Introduction[]
Well, I previously did a blog about the Nature of the Data. Currently I see that there was a lot of information missing. On the blog I spoke more sober the nature of the Digital World System than really about the nature of the Data. Today I got a lot more information about the Digimon franchise and so I decided to create more organized blogs with more information so that I could give the franchise the explanatory blogs that it really deserves.
What are data?[]
Being more direct Data is all that makes up the Digital World being interpreted by our computers as 0s and 1s. Data are organized and make up anything that exists in the Digital World, so let's talk about it.
Matter and Energy[]
As explained by Gennai in the scene that I used as the cover of this blog the data of the digital world act as the atoms and molecules of the Human World composing physical existence. According to Duftmon of the Royal Knights all matter and energy can be expressed via the codes 0s and 1s of the data.
Souls[]
Data also composes souls, being more direct the residual data of dead beings are recognized as souls. This is also mentioned in other profiles such as Hisyarumon.

Mind[]
Yes, even the mind of living beings can be made of data. Through the manipulation of mental data it is possible to control the mind normally, for example Mugendramon received a program that controls his mind.
History[]
- Memorial Stelas, the terminals that continue to record everything in the island.
- A giant storage that records all data that flows on File Island, as well as the Digital World.
- It is the months and years that passed in the Digital World manifested as a stela.
- It is said that if someone can look inside of one of these, they can control the world's entire data flow, and at the moment the balance of this overwhelming data volume is disrupted, it'll receive an amount of data that normal life simply can't endure.
- The Memorial Stelas monitor the overwhelming possibilities and bottomless abyss of information as they stand inconspicuously in the corners of the Digital World.
Even the data represent history, on the Yggdrasil Network, for example there are devices that store the history of the Digital World itself and calculate all the countless possibilities of futures having an bottomless abyss of information.
The flow of time itself depends on data processing, if data flows faster then time passes faster.
And if the historical data is changed then the history of the timeline itself is also changed.
Interaction[]
With what has been explained so far it is clear that everything that exists, from material things to abstract things, can be represented simply by data arrangements. And this helps in many things, as everything can be summed up in data in some arrangement so anything that is not previously Data being transformed into data is able to give rise to the other parts of its existence. For example, if one removes one's mind or soul and transforms it into data without transforming its material body, then its composition in data coming from its mind or soul is capable of forming something similar to the material body. Something similar happens in the games of the series "Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth" where humans transform their mind into data that create physical avatars in the EDEN Network. Now if everything is data, then data could affect data? Saying something like that would be something like NLF, but in more recent works that's really what we have.
As explained, even the mind can be converted into data. For beings made in data no matter the type of data, as long as it is data they may be affected. Thus a Digimon could freely affect the body, soul and mind of any being and this really should occur. The reason why this does not occur normally is because such vital data is protected by a Firewall, say that it would be the resistance of the data beings to protect its structure preventing it from being manipulated freely by other beings. Under normal conditions humans transformed into data would not directly affect the mind and soul of another human being because there is a barrier created to prevent it. So for a human to affect another human being would have to break that barrier which is exactly the service that Hackers do.
Digimon on the other hand are natural digital beings and are accustomed to affect data, so they can break these barriers more easily. In fact one of the mechanics of the games is to gather Digimon with capabilities to break these firewalls and get through sealed regions. Through this ability to break Firewalls it is common to see Digimon affecting the mind and soul of a human being. During several missions we saw the Digimon controlling the mind of humans, initially we considered it to be a skill of some Digimon, but for the information that Hackers Memory brought the reason for it is in fact the natural ability of the Digimon to affect the Data indiscriminately.
The Digimon also has its own protection. Just as humans have their true existence protected by Firewalls the Digimon has its true existence, the Digicores, protected by what we humans thought was a material skeleton. These "Digimon avatars" are much more complex than those of Human Avatars and have several other abilities. That and other things I'll leave to explain on another blog. [file:Video Cutter 20 8 16 29 52-1-.gif|460px|centre]] And remember digital existence matters as much as real existence, even if a Digimon affects a being originally real, this being will be completely annihilated if the data that the digital being affects are destroyed.
Being more specific Data exist in fact in a plane of existence superior to the Physical World, in fact the composition of the Physical World exists within the composition of the Digital World. Basically it is a more direct form than what we know in isolation, in fact it is only part of what makes up the structure of the Digital World, the Data.
In fact in Digimon the Data are superior to the physical existence (So much is that producers have already compared the Digimon the platonic souls that exist in the World of Ideas). This is so true that there are things that physical bodies are incapable of doing and only a digital entity can do as it traverses dimensional space-time. Physical beings are unable to cross the dimensions of time and space, but Digital beings can. So much so that when a material being goes to another universe, even if it has no digital origin, it is transformed into a digital existence.
And one more thing, as you may have noticed special attacks and abilities are also interpreted as Data. So if a Digimon is able to erase data, it is able to circumvent attacks. And this really is something that happens, characters like Arkadimon have the ability to completely reduce any arrangement of data to individual 0s and 1s making them totally ineffective and then deleting them. When he reaches the form Arkadimon Super Ultimate he can use the "God Matrix" and thus create an invisible barrier around him that completely reduces everything that comes close to him at 0s and 1s, preventing something from actually reaching him.
