Compilation for non-grimoire powers from Anima: Beyond Fantasy, hopefully I do not have to create another blog until the new book come out.

Gurmah-Garus[]

Measuring the size of Gurmah-Gharus, just to obtain its lifting strength. We already got its length: Gurmah-Gharus is a titanic worm whose body is completely covered with thick, onyx-colored chitinous armor. Some think it is more than a mile long, but nothing can be further from the truth: that is only the part of its body that can be seen when it attacks. In fact, its length is about ten times greater than anything yet seen. Of course, english translation is not very good in Anima, instead of mile is kilomters, so 10 km of length.

BigBois
  • Scale = 196 px = 2 km
  • Gurmah's diameter = 50.47 px = 0.515 km = 515 m
  • Size ratio (Using as reference this worm) = (515/0.02)^2*10000*0.2 = 1.326*10^12 kg
  • So, I think giving it at least its weight as lifting strength should be good, so final result is ~663*10^9 kg (Class G). Should have the Likely Class T since the Gurmah has some kind of rock armor and should have more density than that worm.

Chthon[]

From the bestiary: [...]On the other hand, according to some legends, if they especially dislike someone, they do not have the slightest hesitation in causing earthquakes and other natural disasters to destroy that person, even to the point of devastating small cities. Original language do not differ much, except that at the end say small metropolis rather than city. Metropolis do not have an specifyc size, but I'm going to use Tenochtitlan as reference due being a anciant metropolis.

With an area of 8 km^2 it has a equivalent radius of ~1.6 km and according to this this blog (Bambu comment) magnitude 7 is enough to collapse buildings. SO real magnitude would be: 7 + 0.0238*1.6 = 7.038 ~ 544 kilotons (Large Town level+)

Yagarema No Mikoto[]

This is an odd calc, not sure if it apply capable or even if there's a way to calculate it. Yagarema No Mikoto, the son of Varja the Spirit of great eastern island itself and Umetsuki the Lady of the Oceans and the Depths, is a Kami that born from a fraction of Varja (the island), here's the text: Thinking that she could be right, both of them shared a night of passion together, after which Umetsuki gave birth to Yagarema, a large island that broke away from Varja.

Another text said: The Island of Yagarema: According to the myths, the dark island was part of ancient Varja, but separated from it thousands of years ago, when Umetsuki gave birth to the son of the supreme Kami. The island is the worldly manifestation of Yagarema no Mikoto himself, and has always been affected by the Insidious God, subtly influencing all the people and things that are on it. Therefore, while Yagarema no Mikoto was active, it was impossible for Lannet and Shivat to build anything there, since earthquakes, windstorms or the sudden insanity of its settlers managed to destroy everything.

EasthernWorldAnima

So Yagarema is the island itself and can control its nature, don't known if relate its AP with the island size, but another character has a similar justification, so let see what can I do.

  • Scale = 169 px = 750 km
  • Yagarema = 105x73 px = 466x324 km
  • Yagarema surface = pi*(466/2)*(324/2) ~ 118600 km^2
  • Yagarema Volume (using Japan's average elevation of 438 m) = 118600*0.438 ~ 52000 km^3

Beyond that (not calculing weight) don't known how to relate size with AP or if it even valid.

EDIT: Ok, so Therefir suggested me to use real earthquakes since the island shake and is impossible to build something on him. So using Magnitude 5 and 6 respectively for end:

Low-End:

  • 5 + 1.1644 + 0.0048*233 = 7.2828 = 106*10^18 J (Island level)

High-End:

  • 7.2828 + 1 = 8.2828 = 3.35*10^21 J (Large Island level+)

Serenade[]

Don't known how exactly calculate this, so going to post it and then hopefully one of you will make the entire work help me. From Gaia I: When fighting in this form she uses two small rusty metal sickles, making small cuts and wounds in her enemies, maximizing the suffering before they die. At other times, she also uses different weapons of torture. Naturally, her abilities are quasi-divine, so both her speed and strength are unmatched. In fact, she moves faster than the human eye can track and can attack hundreds of people simultaneously, who see how their bodies slowly begin to develop cuts and sores.

Ok, I may known a method for calculating, just going to assume that Serenade is capable to made at least 200 hundreds of cuts and human eyes aren't capable to see those attacks, so 220 Hz for timeframe. Going to use this sickle as reference and the arm of a woman (I'm guessing that she is grabbing the sickle at 3/4 of its length), so:

  • 3/4*0.39 + 0.3905*1.68 ~ 0.95 m
  • 2*pi*(90/360)*0.95*200 = 298 m (the 90 of the angle of slice, as a small weapon it should be higher than that)
  • 298*220 = 65560 m/s = Mach 190.8 (Massively Hypersonic)

Rudraskha[]

Rudraskha's description from the bestiary: For all purposes, trying to fight Rudraskha is equivalent to challenging a god. The Lord of Storms can destroy armies and cities with the ease and indifference of a child trampling ants. Not for nothing is it said to have destroyed whole kingdoms. It may appears to be a hyperbola/overtime, but with Yagerame being a giant island and Filisnogos destroying everything in a radius of 100 km when he was a "baby" is not farfetched to think is literal and in a small timeframe.

There's several kingdoms in Gaia (in the real language its refering to the principalities, that are countries sizewise), but going to use Baho as reference (at the end, it was the last place that Rudraskha attacked and is currently sealed there).

BahoScale

Baho has kinda an irregular shape, so I have no choice to make the lowest and highest end (I have other choice but it involve drawing several shapes to fit in Baho, but I'm kinda lazy to do it now).

  • Scale = 134 px = 750 km
  • Baho diameter = 158.65 px = 888 km
  • Yield = (444/0.28)^3/(2*10000000000) = 1.99 Teratons (Low 6-B)
  • Baho diameter = 282 px = 1578.36 km
  • Yield = (789.18/0.28)^3/(2*1000000000) = 11.2 Teratons (6-B)

Ghestal Puppet[]

From the PWG: "Thanks to their control over fire Ghestal Puppets can do distance attacks by generating bursts of fire. This skill is considered a ranged attack that explodes on impact with an effect area of 3 meters." I should make notice that the Power Area of Effect refer to radius and not to diameter. Calc is simple: (0.003/0.28)^3*1000000*4184000 = 5146140 J (Wall level)

Queen Hydra[]

Similar to the calc from above: "Brood Queens can launch a powerful fire breath from any head (or several of them at once). The breath of the main head has a range of 100 meters and covers an impact area of up to 25 meters. By contrast, the smaller heads have a range of only 25 meters and effects an area of one meter radius. After using its breath each head is required to wait at least three rounds before they can re-launch it." Just as above: (0.025/0.28)^3*1000000 = 711.8 kg tnt ~ 3*10^9 J (Building level)

Gwyllgi[]

Once again, from the Bestiary: Shadow Leap: Shadow Leap is a special skill the Gwyllgi commonly use to pounce on enemies who have not noticed them. Instead of moving normally, the hound may jump up to 250 feet (80 m) and attack its victim in the same turn, without suffering any penalty to its Subterfuge Abilities for its movement. So a jump that can cover 80 m, as a low-end going to use the 3 s from the assault duration (the creature can use 3 action per turn, so aside from another 2 actions, the other players can do other stuff with the 3 s), so speed is: 80/3 = 26.666 m/s (Superhuman)

Now, as a higher end going to count this as a jump (what it really is). Using the World Guiness Record for the highest dog jump, 191.7 cm from a dog called Feather, so using this calculator (cuz lazy), the result is 64.24 m/s (Subsonic).

Another option, a PC or NPC is capable to jump a distance 1/5 of its Movement (only if the character has enough space and has been running, unfortunately it do not talk about vertical jump nor jumping without being running but is all that I got); so the creature has a Movement of 10 (35 m), so it can jump a distance of 7 m, according to the calculator is 35.46 m/s (Subsonic) Actually, forget this, otherwise even common animals (wolf, tigers) would be able to jump this high.

Dodging Arrows[]

This is a little more complicated, defending agisnt projectiles in Anima generally involve eating a few negatives since, at lower levels, parrying or dodging shotted projectiles is quite a thing: parrying a projectile is -80, meanwhile doging it is -30; shotting at point nlank (less than 1 m) increase the attack ability of the shotter by +30. So all that is a penalizer of -110 if parry or -60 if dodging (note: its only valid for attack ability below 200, after that the negatize reduce or dissappear. Also, for reference I'm going to use the dodge negative).

A common hunter (Scout lv 0) has attack ability of 40, so to dodging it a point blank is needed around 100 defense ability to have a fair chance to dodge (as usual, a dodge or a strike is never guarentee in role games). The rest is simple, an arrow generally travel at 68.6 m/s (I'm not accounting for acceleration), so a reaction of at least 1/68.6*1000 = 14.58 ms (Subsonic) is needed (Naturally, someone that is running at close range or is smaller than usual has more chance to dodge the arrow).
