I am fire! And life incarnate! Now and forever--I am PHOENIX!

Summary

The Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity representing the ultimate expression of all light and life within the cosmos as the sum and origination of all living things. It is a force of nature whose birth signals the Big Bang that originates the universe, being both the first spark of life that creates all things and the consuming fire that brings them to an end. Thus, it is a spirit of destruction and rebirth, allowing the new to emerge from the ashes of the old, equal parts good and evil. In the physical world, it usually acts through many hosts, the most powerful of which is Jean Grey of the X-Men, who was born with a strange affinity for the Phoenix Force and compatibility so perfect that the two are essentially the same entity.

Though there is an instance of the Phoenix Force in every reality of the multiverse, all of them are emanations of a single, complete Phoenix, which resides in the Mystery above and outside of the multiverse entirely, presiding over the multiversal afterlife known as the White-Hot Room.

Powers and Stats

Tier: Low 1-A | High 1-A

Key: Universal Phoenix Force | True Phoenix Force

Name: The Phoenix Force, The Big Bang, The Thunderbird, The Firebird, The Omni-Fire, The All-Flame, The Eternal Flame, Phal'kon, The Chaos-Bringer

Origin: Marvel Comics

Gender: Inapplicable (Always referred to as a feminine force)

Age: Inapplicable (Technically originated with the birth of the universe but ultimately exists beyond time) | Inapplicable (Predates and transcends the omniversal cycle)

Classification: Beginning and End of all Creation, Alpha and Omega, Heart of All Things, First Flame, Fire and Life Incarnate, Child of the Sun, Mother of the Stars, The Vision of the Harmony of Things, The Sum and Substance of All That Lives.

Powers and Abilities:

Abstract Existence (Type 1), Incorporeality, Reality Warping, Matter Manipulation (Atomically deconstructed Bumbleboy, and halted the process to better examine it just as easily[1]), Space-Time Manipulation (Feron using the Phoenix's power was able to project the essence of a tower through the entire multiverse, so that it existed in all planes of reality simultaneously.[2] Froze time to speak with Jean Grey[3]), Energy Manipulation and Absorption, Telepathy (Waged a psychic war against Charles Xavier that spanned all infinite levels of existence simultaneously,[4] and would have won if it were not for Jean Grey's inner meddling), Mind Manipulation, Teleportation, Telekinesis, Non-Physical Interaction and Healing (The Phoenix is described as "a healing force for universes,"[5] and through her flames Giraud was able to sear shut a hole that was eating away at Eternity's fabric[6]), Beyond-Dimensional Existence (Type 2), Invisibility, Possession, Nigh-Omniscience, Omnipresence, Life and Death Manipulation (Exists as an expression of the lifeforce of the universe itself, and were she to die, all light and life would fade away, leading the cosmos to "ultimate extinction."[7] Killed Cyclops by withering him to death[8]), Soul Manipulation (Snatched Jean Grey's soul from its journey to the White-Hot Room in order to resurrect her[9]), Madness Manipulation (Type 2; The mere sight of the Phoenix can leave someone blinded and mad, and its touch is even worse[10]), Perception Manipulation and Illusion Creation, Resurrection, Acausality (Type 4), Fire Manipulation, Memory Manipulation, Light Manipulation, Cosmic Awareness, Dimensional Travel, Sleep Manipulation, Shapeshifting, Creation, Immortality (Types 1, 3, and 4; The Phoenix doesn't truly die, and instead returns to the White-Hot Room in order to reform itself,[9][11] being able to resurrect even after being completely erased from existence)

All previous powers and abilities, in addition to: Nonexistent Physiology (Nature 2, Aspect 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; The White-Hot Room is in the Mystery outside all that exists,[12] in which it is even less manifest than the Beyond, which is itself less manifest than the Far Shore, a plane of pure absence that is prior to, and above, even the concept of existence[13] and of reality[14] as a whole[15]), Existence Erasure (Claims to be capable of pruning Loki from the Tree of Life entirely[5]), vastly improved Creation (The flames of the Phoenix are the very fires of creation that forge the possible into the actual,[16] with the White-Hot Room itself being the unmanifest void in which all matter and energy sleeps,[17] both the singularity at the beginning and end of creation[18] and the Big Bang that births it[19]), Acausality (Type 5; The Phoenix is the force that turns the cosmos and originates the process of change and becoming,[20][5] moving all things while not being itself moved), Information Manipulation, Plot Manipulation (The White Hot Room is a place of pure creativity that births somethings and nothings,[21] and as its name implies, serves as the pure white page on which stories and endings are written[21]), Subjective Reality, Transduality (Type 3; As she is beyond the omniverse, she also transcends the In-Betweener, an inner function of Eternity that personifies the barrier and division between dichotomies,[22][23] being "a concept of concepts"[24] and "walking the path between all worlds, all concepts,"[25] simultaneously the union of all polarities and something that stands exempt from them)

Attack Potency: Low Outerverse level (The pure Phoenix Force should be comparable or superior to her more powerful hosts, including Giraud, who was able to cauterize a wound in Eternity's substance and cause him to feel pain for the first time,[6] and Feron while channeling a portion of her power was able to expand an energy matrix so that it covered all infinite Earths, and eventually started compressing them into a singularity[2][26]) | High Outerverse level (Exists in, and as the White-Hot Room,[5][27][28] one of the places of the Mystery beyond the omniverse, residing in even higher space than the realm of the Beyonders,[20][5] with the location itself being the Phoenix's mindscape,[29] which she holds complete dominance over. While possessed by the Phoenix, Taaia was already vastly above the Beyonder, and the Phoenix itself is more powerful still, claiming to have no limits in comparison to her host and quickly obliterating all of the Defenders when assuming her true form, including Blue Marvel, who was previously evenly matched with Taaia-possessed Phoenix)

Speed: Omnipresent (Stated to touch all things in the universe[30]), Immeasurable when assuming a form (Exists beyond time and space,[31][32] occupying a similar state of existence to the Abstracts) | Omnipresent (Describes herself as being life and death incarnate "in all things, all places"[5]), Immeasurable when taking on a form or possessing a host (Lies above the narrative of lower planes, being shown to operate outside of the comicbook's panels,[5] perceiving and interacting with multiple events in the continuity at once)

Lifting Strength: Immeasurable

Striking Strength: Low Outerverse level | High Outerverse level

Durability: Low Outerverse level | High Outerverse level (Capable of fighting against the Tiger God, her equal and opposite force, and enduring attacks from him)

Stamina: Infinite (The Phoenix is a source of infinite power[21])

Range: Low Outerversal (The Phoenix's mental battle with Charles Xavier raged across all the infinite levels of reality) | High Outerversal

Standard Equipment: None notable

Intelligence: Nigh-Omniscient (Stated to know all that is, having just as close familiarity with the universe as a whole as she does with individual people.[30] Emma Frost states that the Phoenix is knowledge and understanding itself[33])

Weaknesses: None notable
