“ | Soon, Ganon, the King of Evil, would make his way into the Light World and bring it to ruin. Link had to defeat Ganon and take back the Triforce before that happened. When the seal broke, the sacrificial maidens descended from the Seven Sages were flung into the Dark World. Link traversed both the Light and Dark Worlds in search of the six maidens and Princess Zelda. Upon saving them, the barrier around Ganon’s Tower was broken. Link destroyed Agahnim in their second battle and made his way to Ganon. After a fierce battle, Link vanquished the monster and regained the Triforce. Placing his hand on the Triforce, Link wished to restore the world to its former glory. With that, all who had fallen victim to Ganon’s evil were resurrected, and Hyrule was peaceful once more. With the Triforce returned to the protection of the royal family, the Dark World born of Ganon's wicked heart gradually faded away. | „ |

“ | The owl that guided Link then revealed itself to be a part of the Wind Fish’s spirit. He had been tasked with guarding this dream world while the Wind Fish slept. But Nightmares had begun to seep in through a tear in the dream and plague the island. It was then that Link arrived. When the owl first saw Link on the beach, he was convinced Link was the hero destined to end the Nightmares. Koholint Island began to fade away when Link awakened the Wind Fish, who left Link with these words: “Someday, thou may recall this island... That memory must be the real dream world... “Come, Link... Let us awaken... Together!” Link awoke to find himself adrift at sea. Looking up, he saw the form of a gigantic whale soaring through the sky. It was the Wind Fish. And together with it, a single seagull flew toward the horizon. | „ |

Summary
Link is the main playable character of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and is a descendant of the knights of Hyrule. Late one night he receives a telepathic message from Princess Zelda in his sleep, asking him to come to her aid and rescue her from the dungeons of the castle. When he awakes, Link goes against his uncles order to stay in the house and sneaks into the castle to save Zelda, however when he makes his way into one of the castles secret passages he finds his beloved uncle dying from wounds received from battle. Taking up the family sword and shield he's successful in rescuing the princess and is tasked with acquiring the Master Sword in order to combat the dark priest Agahnim and free the kingdom from his clutches. With the aid of Sahasrahla, the elder of Kakariko Village, Link is able to retrieve all three of the pendants needed to obtain the legendary blade and sets off to defeat Agahnim, only to arrive too late as the priest had banished Zelda into the Dark World and soon after sending Link to the same realm after an intense battle. Eventually saving Zelda and the other 6 maidens trapped within the Dark World, Link finally obtains the power he needs to strike down Agahnim, only to discover he was just an alterego of the demon king Ganon who retreats into his pyramid. After one final battle Link is able to defeat Ganon and recover the Triforce, wishing upon it to undo all the damage caused by Ganon.
After bringing peace to Hyrule, Link sets off to train in preparation for any threats that could potentially arise in the future. After honing his skills in distant countries, Link returns to Hyrule only to be caught within a storm and stranded on Koholint Island. After exploring the island to find a way to leave he learns that both he and the island are part of a dream created by the Wind Fish, and that the only way for Link to leave is to wake the ancient sky spirit, causing the annilation of the island and it's inhabitants in the process. Link eventually drives back and destroys the nightmares keeping the Wind Fish in an eternal slumber and awakens him, sending him back to the oceans in the real world with the remains of his ship.

Resistance to Transmutation (Via the Moon Pearl, which allows him to keep his true form while in the Dark World[19], which normally transforms people into a reflection of their heart and mind[3], the Dark Worlds magic is so potent that it can even transform creatures like Poes[22], which are immune to the Magic Powder[3]), Empathic Manipulation (Via the Moon Pearl, which protects him from the magic of the Dark World, which tuned law-abiding citizens into despicable bandits[23]),

Standard Equipment: |

Intelligence: Gifted (Can make his way through complex and heavily guarded dungeons and solve the puzzles within them), Genius in combat (He is able to quickly master using a sword and various other weapons despite never using them prior, and could learn his family's secret sword technique within moments of being told how to do it[2], and through training gained the skill to sword fight as effectively in the air or underwater as he can on solid ground)
Weaknesses: Has a limited pool of magic to draw upon, and will be unable to use any of his magical items should his reserves run low and any magical items currently in use such as the Magic Cape or Cane of Bryna will automatically deactivate once his magic reserve is depleted[3] (However his magical items in Link's Awakening don't draw from his magic and items like the Magic Rod can be used as much as he pleases). The Ether, Quake, and Bombos Medallions can only have their magic channeled through the Master Sword, and Link will be unable to use any of the medallions should he be separated from the blade[3]. He can only fire energy beams from the Master Sword and Koholint Sword while he's in peak condition, and even the slightest bit[3] of damage will disable[9] his ability to do so. All his potions and fairies are one use only, and due to only carrying a small handful of bottles his options for healing, restoring his magic, and reviving himself are limited. Is incapable of swimming without the Zora Flippers[3]. The Secret Medicine wears off after reviving him once. The effects of Pieces of Power and Guardian Acorns are only temporary and will wear off quicker if he takes damage.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Spin Attack: After charging energy into his blade, Link does a 360 spin attack that deals greater damage than his normal sword strikes and, due to the energy surrounding it, has slightly more reach
- Magic: Link possesses an innate ability to use magic, while he doesn't know how to cast spells by himself he can make use of various magical artifacts by channeling his own magic energy through them. However he can't cast spells endlessly and needs to make efficient use of his magical reserves (The only exception being the Magic Rod in Links Awakening, which doesn't deplete his magic at all). Each magical item he uses drains his magic to varying degree:
