Wind Fish Zelda
I AM THE WIND FISH... LONG HAS BEEN MY SLUMBER... IN MY DREAMS... AN EGG APPEARED AND WAS SURROUNDED BY AN ISLAND. WITH PEOPLE, ANIMALS, AN ENTIRE WORLD! ... ... ... ..
~ The Wind Fish

Summary

The Wind Fish is the god-like entity alluded to in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. The purpose of the game is to collect the Eight Instruments of Sirens to awaken this creature from an egg. Once it is awakened, it is revealed that the entire island Link has been adventuring on is a dream, as alluded to earlier by the Nightmares and the Owl, along with the Southern Face Shrine. Once Link wakes up the Wind Fish by playing the Ballad of the Wind Fish, Koholint Island will disappear, along with all of its residents.
