Introduction[]
After seeing some people having doubts about some nature of the franchise, continuing to see people demoing Digimon for having relationships with virtual worlds and things like that (At one time I even saw a person in this wikia who was surprised at the level of the Digimon because they were influenced by human emotions), I decided to make this text that will have as main objective to clarify doubts about how the data world works in Digimon.
Is the Digital World run by human computers?[]
This is one of the biggest questions I see about the franchise, many downgrade the Digmon franchise stating that the entire Digital World is just a computer program, exists on the internet from Earth and anyone with a computer can freely defeat any Digimon just by deleting their Files from the internet.
Let's see what the franchise says about it.
As you can see in the scan above Chiaki J. Konaka, the author of Digimon Tamers, states that the Digital World does not exist on the network / internet, but in a world that exists beyond the network as we know it.
In these next two scenes the answer will be very clear.
Here Taiki asks Wisemon if the Digital World was something created by humans, the digimon responds negatively and affirms that the Digital World is even older than the human world itself and that in relation to creation is more capable of the opposite happened, Only in the current periods that humans have discovered how to use the capabilities of the Digital World.
In this other scene Wizardmon begins to ask questions about the Digital World, especially how it runs. Taiki then says that he believes that the Digital World is actually a very well made virtual reality that was produced by a person. However Wizardmon states that this is impossible even if all the resources of the universe were used it would still be impossible to run the Digital World due to the possibility that the Digital World actually exists on a plane of existence above the Real World and is most possible That the Digital World includes the Real World than the opposite.
I can bring in other scenes that indicate this, but I believe they are unnecessary. As you can see, it is totally impossible for humans to produce something like the Digital World, but now let's go to the question of how they can manipulate the Digital World.
Data Manipulation[]
In my previous blog,about cosmology, one of the mentions coming from Azzy was that due to human interference it would be difficult to qualify some things like information from the Infinite Mountain.
I will not get into the issues involving what would or would not be qualifiable, I think it is unnecessary for now, but using the fact of human influence is no reason to deny it. Humans can not influence the Digital World by normal means and the relationship between humans and digimon occur only under specific conditions.
As you can see in the above scans it is impossible for the Real World to be able to process something like the Digital World, the reasons why humans can make certain changes in the Digital World and influence the Digimon are three:
- Influence of the Network;
- Digital Shift;
- Nature of the Digital World.
Influence of the Network[]
The Network, also called the Dimensional Wall, is not really the internet, in fact it is a multi-layered plane that exists to connect the Real World (the Internet) and the Digital World. The Internet is represented through the series as being just a pseudo digital plane adjacent to the others, not really a complete Digital World like the others produced by divine hosts or by the process of evolution.
Here is an example of how the internet is portrayed in the franchise, it had already appeared before in the movie Bokura no War Game !, it has not changed much. The internet is not very important, but it is important to mention that there is a difference between the internet itself that humans use and the network that connects between worlds.
It is through the Network that humans can send codes to the Digital World, the Network is closely connected with the human internet and it captures the data that is produced by humans and sent to the Digital World.
Without the network for humans to use as a gateway to the Digital World it is impossible for any of them to send data to the DW. Only through very difficult methods can it be possible for a human to reach the Digital World.
One of the ways to get to the Digital World without the network is through Digital Dive, however this method is unconventional and there is no explanation for its operation. It is only known that it is accessible after the Digital World is saved in the past, it is like a reward.
In addition, in times of crisis the Digital World itself invokes humans even without the active network, so when it is not activated the explanation of how humans can still go to the DW or affect it is because the Digital World itself wants this .
So under normal conditions it is impossible for humans to send some command to the Digital World, their entire connection to the Digital World crucially depends on the network and all humans can do about it is to use the data enhanced by the Network for Create a program to also control the flow of data. Digital Shift[]
Of course it is impossible for humans to interact physically with the Digimon, they are beings of different layers and the conventional appearance of a digimon in the human world can cause the destruction of this world.

So when humans go into the digital world and interact with the data beings they are not in normal conditions, they always suffer from Digital Shift which is what allows them to exist in that layer. So when a human interacts with the Digimon the reason for this is clear, the two are in equivalent states somehow. Of course, Digimon can also suffer a "Matter Shift" that turns them into ordinary beings, however this is extremely rare.
Nature of the Digital World[]
This is the main point I want to reach, many argue that because the Digital World is code-driven, "digital" and a complete allusion to a virtual reality, this world does not have a superior capability even when compared to an MMO common.
Well, part of that is no lie, the Digital World really works in a similar way, but that's no reason to reduce your level.
Yes, to say that the Digital World works in a computer-like way is not a lie, even though Koushiro is very much mistaken in his theory in Digimon Adventure he demonstrated that the Digital World responds to code commands:
And in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth the Suedo always says that through a world made of data everything could be done, there would not be a doubt of what could be possible because everything would be possible. After all it would be able to manipulate reality through a computer code.
There is nothing to deny about it, there is a whole game where the plot is the modification of the Real World to become in digital so that everything may be possible. But what few think is that this is not a reason for Digimon to be less than Other franchises.
For example, we have a work that works with the use of circles specifically designed to work with your hax and others where random items placed in a specific form together generate magic potions (Sometimes a canticle is also needed).This is naturally regarded as magic, or manipulation of reality or something similar, and the series in question do not suffer with low expectations in the opinion of many.
But with Digimon this seems to be different, many think that the fact that humans influence the Digimon, there is use of electronic devices as a focus for developments and use of codes to change reality. However Digimon's situation is no different from other franchises.
The reason for all this to occur is simply the same as how magical rituals or symbolic designs have power in other franchises, because that's what data code means to Digimon, it's reality warping, it's magic.
Not only am I saying that, many official profiles made by BANDAI NAMCO themselves state that computer technology is magic for the Digital World.

This is enough ? There are several mentions that the use of codes are the magic of the Digital World, is not different from the magic of other universes, it is only presented based on electronic devices. In the page of Information Manipulation it is already said that a high level of it can be comparable to reality warping., basically this is what Information Manipulation is for DIgimon.
So it's not because humans can manipulate something using their computers that this is a flaw for the Digital World, it's because it's in their nature to treat it that way.
That is also why certain things like Reboots based on formatting a computer happen, is still based on our technology, but there is a whole cosmological analysis behind that works these events as if they were something of our world (A formatting in a Computer for example would be a reset on the timeline).
Conclusion[]
With all that has been said here it can be concluded that the Digital World, although it has many bases in our technology, it does not come from human technology. It is indeed impossible for us humans to develop anything at the level of the Digital World.
Humans do not interact with the Digital World in a natural way, they can only influence it from the Real World thanks to the action of the Network that sends the human data to the upper layer of the Digital World. When the Network does not act and humans are still able to interact with the Digital World this happens through unconventional means, sometimes it is the Digital World itself that wants it.
Humans to interact with the Digital World and the Digimon directly need to undergo the event known as Digital Shift, in that event they have their entire body replaced by a body of data that they will use in the Digital World, or anywhere Which is about the effect of Digital Shift.
For the Digital World the programming of computers is like its magic, being thus an accomplishment using this type of system in the Digital World means the same as performing a magical act.
Therefore, there is no reason to deny feats coming from some Digimon or deny that the Digital World can be a world superior to the Human World, or simply an entire universe independent of the human, because of human influences. All actions coming from humans have a context behind them that explain how this interaction occurs.
