Introduction[]
So I just watched the trailer for the fan-remake of Fusion Fall and got all giddy. I decided to do this calc as a celebration. Planet Fuse is pretty massive. How massive you may ask? Well...
You see that small planet connected to it? That's Jupiter.
The Calculation[]
#1 Diameter and Radius[]
Jupiter has a diameter of 97 Pixels, or 139,822 km
Planet Fuse has a diameter of 390 Pixels.
390 / 97 = 4.02
139,822 * 4.020618556701031 = 562,170.92 km in diameter.
562,170.92 / 2 = 281,085.46 km in radius.
#2 Volume and Mass[]
(4 × pi × 281,085.46^3)/3 = 9.3025873 × 10^16 km^3, which is 9.30258729999999956 × 10^31 cm^3
Density of the Earth is 5.51 g/cm^3
9.30258729999999956 × 10^31 * 5.51 = 5.1257256e+32 grams, or 5.12572560000000003e+29 kg
#3 GBE[]
Using the Gravity Calculator: http://www.ericjamesstone.com/blog/home/gravity-calculator-for-astronomical-bodies-based-on-radius-and-density/
Using the more accurate 5.515 g/cm^3 density, I get a Gravity of 44.29 gs and 433.11 m/s^2
Now importig the values into the Planetary Parameter calculator: http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/Tech/Beam/Calculator.html
I get a yield of 2.032E+48 J
20 Kilofoe
I probably did something wrong. Maybe I should use the density of a gas giant?
