In this thread a calculation was requested. I did it. But now I have to transcript it into blog form. So hi. I'm back again. I'll try and be a little more precise this time around than I was during the thread.
While in Mystic Falls, Virginia, Damon is infected by werewolf venom (poor guy), and Caroline, in a desperate long shot, calls Klaus in an attempt to get him here to save them. Problem, though. Klaus is in New Orleans, Louisiana at the time, and when Caroline calls him, he doesn't pick up. Caroline states that she "will call him back in 10 minutes". He shows up before that happens. How fast was that? Let's work it out.
Where is Mystic Falls?[]
Mystic Falls, like the main location of so many TV shows, doesn't actually exist. Yay. But there is this map that gives us a ballpark area. Apparently, it is located between two towns, Charlottesville, and Lynchburg, both of which actually exist in real life, and are in Virginia. Good start. But those towns aren't actually as close as the Vampire Diaries think they are.
While I know that Mystic Falls is between those two towns, they are 109.3 km apart IRL. As Mystic Falls looks almost right between the two, I will assume that it is about where this little place called Lovingston is in real life. Happy? Of course you are.
Calculation[]
New Orleans is 1524.048 km away from Lovingston according to Google Maps.
As a lowball, let's assume that Klaus ran the distance in the whole 10 minutes that he was given.
Distance / time = 2,540.08 m/s or Mach 7.4 | Hypersonic
