Introduction

Little over a month back I calc'd Tohru's feat of jumping to space. I used 100 km, as that is the shortest distance between Earth's surface and space. However, what I did not take into account is how she's clearly far beyond the edge of Earth's atmosphere.

Calculation

Earth's radius is 6371 km.

Tohruspacejump

228/359.5 = 0.63421418637

0.63421418637*6371 = 4040.6 km

Add 100 km more to account for the trip from Earth to space.

4040.6 + 100 = 4140.6 km

10 Second Version

4140.6/10 = 414.06 km/s or Mach 1207 or Massively Hypersonic+

15 Second Version

4140.6/15 = 276.04 km/s or Mach 805 or Massively Hypersonic

Conclusion

Worst case scenario, Tohru, Elma, and Lucoa all scale to the low end and still get a pretty big upgrade. Best case scenario, those three get scaled to the high end and Kanna and Ilulu get scaled to the low end.

Redux of the Redux

DontTalk has recommended angsizing.

Formula = 2atan(tan(70/2)*(object size in pixels/screen height in pixels))

So, using the 359.5 px radius of the Earth as the object size and the 1600 px manga page as the screen height, I get 0.212121518 radians or 12.2 degrees. Plugging that and the 6371 km radius of Earth into the angsize calculator I get a distance of 2.9922e+4 km plus the 100 km for the distance from Earth's surface to space for a total distance of 30022 km.

10 Second Version

30022/10 = 3002 km/s or Mach 8752 or Massively Hypersonic+

15 Second Version

30022/15 = 2001.5 km/s or Mach 5835 or Massively Hypersonic+

Conclusion 2

Worst case scenario, Tohru, Elma, and Lucoa all scale to the low end and still get a massive upgrade. Best case scenario, those three get scaled to the high end and Kanna and Ilulu get scaled to the low end.
