This is an attemp to calculate the kame hame ha speed, the feat occured in the DBZ movie 05 and can be watched here https://kissanime.to/Anime/Dragon-Ball-Z-Movie-06-Gekitotsu-100-oku-Power-no-Senshi-tachi, the feat is around min 41:20.
Due a some factors like cinematic time, I'll use three methods/scenes to determinate the speed:
First instant that the sun can be see it[]
Since the time that Cooler was threw out to space until the time that the sun can be see it, have passed 10.803 seconds.
Now for the distance, the sun diameter is 6 px= 1392000 km, and the screen height is 480 px, using the angular size 2atg(tg(35)*(6/480))= 1.003 degrees; using the calculator http://www.1728.org/angsize.htm, the distance is= 342.74 px= 79515680 km. So, the distance crossed would be the distance between the sun and the earth (149597870.7 km) minus the obtained value, that is 70082190.7 km.
So the speed would be= 70082190.7/10.803= 6487289.706 km/s= 21.639c.
First instant that the sun can be completely see it[]
Using the same method from above, but this time with time= 19.27 seconds.
Using the formula from above, this time with Sun diameter= 148 px; the degrees are 24.366, and then, the distance is 3223796.756 km. The final distance would be 146374073.944 km.
The speed this time is= 146374073.944/19.27= 7595956.094 km/s= 25.337c.
Using the time and distance from above[]
This part only use the diference between timeframe= 19.27-10.803= 8.467 seconds; and the difference between the distances= 146374073.944-70082190.7= 76291883.244 km; so, basically the time that passed between the first time that the sun showed, and the time that the sun showed completelly.
So the speed is= 76291883.244/8.467= 9010497.607 km/s= 30.055c.
Time it took until Cooler crashes against the Sun[]
It took 24.316 second to reach to sun; so the speed would be= 149597870.7/24.317= 6152240.117 km/s= 20.521c.
The final results are:
- Low: 20.521c.
- Mid-Low: 21.639c.
- Mid-High: 25.337c.
- High: 30.055c.
So this results should affect the movie and GT characters, iirc, but that part is beyond my control for now. Any though or suggestion?
