VS Battles Wiki

First blog post topic ever, here goes nothing.

It seems silly to me that very common interactions between characters have to be explained or argued over multiple times in different vs battle threads after a decision has already been reached before.

Examples would be things like: Can Beerus absorb x,y,z kind of energy? Can Undertale characters use their SOUL based powers and attacks against digital / inorganic characters? Can Madokami even fight anyone if they aren't classified as a witch in their profile?

These things have already been settled before many times. Instead of arguing about all this from scratch every time, I propose that when a vs battle thread is finished, part of the reporting of the results to have the matches added to profiles should be special notes about decisions on interactions that came up during the battle. Something along the lines of:

______

votes 7-1 in the match Goddess Madoka vs. Character A [link to thread]

notes: it was decided that, for the sake of Goddess Madoka being able to fight in battles, all enemies she fights will be treated as 'witches' so that Madoka is able to interact with them in the first place.

________

The person who then goes into the profiles to add the results of the battle would add that special note to the most relevant profile for the future reference so that this point doesn't need to be rehashed every time.

These notes would be used to define the interactions of edge cases to make future discussions go smoother. The staff member who adds the notes along with the match outcome to the profiles would need to read the thread to make sure they understand and approve of the logic behind the note though, so this might add some overhead if that is not something that is currently done.

It would be a massive undertaking to do this retroactively, so I suggest this could be done going forward.
