Summary

The Human, also referred to as a Survivor or Player, is the only playable creature in ARK: Survival Evolved. There are two sexes to choose from, as well as numerous options for body types. Every human on the island spawns with a Specimen Implant in its arm. Humans can reach a maximum level of 100.

  • Whip: Very versatile mid-ranged weapon, can be used to pick items off the ground, harvest resources, disarm others, dismount others, reduce torpor in allies, stun enemies, encourage allies to move faster.
  • Chainsaw: Strong melee weapon, requires gasoline to function.
  • Shield (Wooden ,Metal, Riot): Strong defensive item, completely negates damage until the Shield is destroyed.
  • Primitive Slingshot: Fires a large stone, deals damagr and increases torpor.
  • Bola: Extremely powerful utility tool that is used to immobilize enemies. Roots for 25 seconds. Target is incapable of moving or attacking.
  • Bow (Regular and Compound): Regular Bow fires a Stone Arrow or Tranq Arrow that deals damage depending on how long the string is held.
  • Longbow: Strong long range weapon, fires Stone Arrows, Flaming Arrows, and Obsidian Arrows.
  • Compound Bow: Compound Bow fires a powerful, armor piercing Metal Arrow.
  • Oil Jar: Throw it to create an oil slick which can be lit on fire. This sticky substance can also slow people down which step in it.
  • Crossbow: Strong ranged weapon that fires a Stone Arrow, Tranq Arrow, or Flaming Arrow.
  • Flare Gun: A single-use flare launcher. Fires a bright ball of Sparkpowder to temporarily light an area.
  • Flintlock Pistol: Extremely high damage, one shot.
  • Musket: High damage, accurate, slow reload.
  • Fabricated Pistol: Moderate damage, fast shooting, 13 rounds before reloading. Fires Advanced Bullets.
  • Pump-Action Shotgun: Powerful close ranged weapon, has 6 rounds before reloading. Fires Simple Shotgun Ammo.
  • Longneck Rifle: Semi-automatic, highly accurate, high damage, fires Simple Rifle Ammo, Tranquilizer Darts, and Shocking Tranquilizer Darts.
  • Flamethrower: Shoots out a jet of flame. Deals damage over time. Uses Flamethrower Ammo.
  • Sniper Rifle: Powerful ranged weapon, comes with a scope, fires rapidly, quick reload, 8 rounds before reloading. Uses Advanced Sniper Bullets.
  • Assault Rifle: Powerful ranged fully automatic weapon. Somewhat inaccurate at distance. 40 rounds before reloading. Fires Advanced Rifle Bullets.
  • C4 and Detonator: Powerful explosive charge that sticks to targets, is detonated by the Detonator.
  • Fragmentation Grenade: Deals high damage after 5 second timer.
  • Cluster Grenade: Splits in several explosive fragments. No timer, explodes on impact.
  • Smoke Grenade: Releases a huge amount of smoke, deals no damage. Combos well with the TEK Helmet. 5 second timer.
  • Poison Grenade: Releases narcotic smoke to knock out anything in the area. 2.5 second timer. Combos well with the TEK Helmet.
  • Rocket Launcher: Extremely powerful ranged weapon. Deals high damage. One shot before reload. Fires Rocket Propelled Grenades. Calced at .15 tonnes of tnt.

  • Waterskin: Restores water, but leaks.
  • Water Jar: Restores water, but leaks.
  • Canteen: Restores water.
  • Blood Extraction Syringe: Used to create Bloodpacks.
  • Spyglass: This instrument is quite effective at long-range reconnaissance. Can be used with Whistle Commands to order attacks from distances.
  • Compass: Standard Compass, always points north.
  • GPS: Detects energy to triangulate location.
  • Transponder Tracker and Transponder Node: Nodes are attached to living creatures and enemies and the Tracker finds their location. Cannot be removed.
  • Paintbrush: Applies dye to objects, tamed creatures, and the Survivor.
  • Spray Painter: Automaticly applies dye to object.
  • Dye: Used to color items, structures, tamed creatues, and the Survivor.
  • Soap: Scrubes dye and paint off items, structures, tamed creatues, and the Survivor.
  • Camera: Used to take pictures.
  • Parachute: Reduces fall damage. Can be used as a form of air travel. Horizontal momentum is almost perfectly conserved, relatively little vertical drop.
  • Magnifying Glass: Shows stats of the target.
  • Notes: The Survivor can write on these.
  • Radio: Used to communicate securely anywhere. Is not affected by terrain or structures.

  • Cloth Armor: Provides some protection from the heat and cold, but only minimal protection from injuries.
  • Hide Armor: Provides low-moderate protection against elements and injuries.
  • Desert Armor: Provides some protection from the heat and cold, but only minimal protection from injuries. Perfect visibility in Sandstorms.
  • Chitin Armor: Provides moderate protection, but can get a little warm.
  • Ghillie Armor: Provides moderate protection, but less than Chitin. Camouflages. Disperses heat.
  • Fur Armor: Provides significant physical protection. Also keeps your temperature up, so long as it stays dry.
  • Scuba Gear: Scuba Gear provides utility. The Mask allows clear visibility underwater. The Tank provides oxygen. The Leggings provides little defense, but tremendous hypothermal insulation, specifically when underwater. The Flippers increases swim speed, but decreases walking speed.
  • Flak Armor: Provides heavy protection, but makes the elements harder to endure.
  • Riot Armor: Provides Extreme protection and reduced physical torpor, but provides almost no protection from elements.
  • Tek Armor: Provides highest amount of protection and utility. Helmet provides Night Vision, GPS, Targeting Mode, and vision cannot be obscured or affected. Chestpiece provides a Jetpack. Gauntlets provides a super punch. Leggings provides a super dash. Boots ignore fall damage.

  • Stone: Can be shot with a Slingshot, inducing rather Torpor than Damage.
  • Stone Arrow: Fired from Regular Bows, Compound Bows, Crossbows, and Longbows.
  • Tranquilizer Arrow: Deals small damage and high torpor. Fired from Regular Bows, Compound Bows, Crossbows, and Longbows.
  • Obsidian Arrow: Fired from Longbow.
  • Metal Arrow: Fired from Compound Bow, armor piercing.
  • Flame Arrow: Deals fire damage. Fired from Regular Bow, Longbow, Crossbow, and Compound Bow.
  • Simple Bullet: Fired from Simple Pistols and Flintlock Pistols.
  • Simple Rifle Ammo: Fired from Longneck Rifles and Muskets.
  • Simple Shotgun Ammo: Fired from Shotguns. Fires spread bullets of 10, devastating at close range.
  • Advanced Bullet: Fired from the Fabricated Pistol.
  • Advanced Rifle Bullet: Fired from the Advanced Rifle, Auto Turret, and Minigun Turret.
  • Advanced Sniper Bullet: Fired from the Sniper Rifle.
  • Flamethrower Ammo: Fuel for the Flamethrower.
  • Rocket Propelled Grenade: Fired from the Rocket Launcer and Rocket Turret.
  • Homing Rockets: Fired from the Rocket Launcer. Trajectory auto-correction.
  • Tranquilizer Dart: Deals high torpor. Fired from the Longneck Rifle.
  • Shocking Tranquilizer Dart: Deals extremely high torpor and shocks enemies. Renders enemies unable to move or function.
  • Ballista Bolt: Massive Bolt with a cast iron arrow head. Fired from a Ballista. Can be retrieved.
  • Cannon Ball: Gigantic ball of heavy metal, fired from the Cannon.
  • Chain Bola: A gigantic bola made of metal chain, capable of ensnaring larger enemies. Fired from the Ballista Turret.
  • Boulder: Massive rock with metal spikes. Fired from the Catapult Turret.

  • Auto Turret: Automatically fires at enemies in range. Fires Advanced Rifle Bullets. Deals Moderate Damage, fires very quickly, very accurately. The Survivor usually has these in large bulk.
  • Ballista Turret: The Survivor can mount this and fire devastating Ballista Bolts or Chain Bolas to immobilize enemies.
  • Catapult Turret: The Survivor can mount this to fire Boulders at enemies.
  • Minigun Turret: The Survivor can mount this to fire a hail of Advanced Rifle Bullets at enemies
  • Plant Species X: A a defensive plant that automatically fires at enemies of the Survivor. Deals low damage, fires quickly, and has unlimited ammo to fire. The projectiles slows and blinds enemies. The Survivor usually has these in large bulk.
  • Primitive Cannon: The Survivor can mount this to fire a Powerful Cannon Ball.
  • Rocket Turret: The Survivor can mount this to fire Rocket Propelled Grenades at your enemies.

  • Bear Trap: Immobilizes enemies comparable to the Survivor. Deals very small damage. The Beartrap can only be damaged by explosive damage. It slowly is destroyed over time. Holds enemies for 13 minutes.
  • Tripwire Alarm Trap: Single Trap use that emits a very loud noise when triggered.
  • Tripwire Narcotic Trap: Single Trap use that releases a huge amount of narcotic gas that knocks out enemies.
  • Barrel of Gunpowder: Explosive trap that can be set off manually or shot to explode.
  • Water Mines: underwater explosive trap that floats, homes, explodes when touched.
  • Improvised Explosive Device: Pair of strong explosives that create a tripwire trap.

  • Antidotes: Cures Afflictions.
  • Battle Tartare: Causes damage to the Survivor but increases damage, speed, and durability.
  • Beer: Mmmmm. Causes the Survivor to resist elemental damage, higher durability, but rapidly reduces stamina.
  • Bingleberry Soup: Provides a huge amount of food to the Survivor. Yummy!
  • Bloodpacks: Restores health over a short amount of time. Self-Heal.
  • Broth of Enlightenment: Greatly improves mental function, increasing intelligence and experience gain.
  • Bug Repellant: Makes the Survivor invisible to insects.
  • Cactus Broth: Greatly reduces water consumption. Aroma inducement provides camouflage.
  • Calien Soup: Provides heat resistance, fire resistance, and reduces water consumption.
  • Cooked Meat: Sates your hunger and heals while being digested. Self Heal.
  • Enduro Stew: Improves regeneration.
  • Energy Brew: Restores stamina.
  • Focal Chili: Increases movement speed and increases crafting speed.
  • Fria Curry: Provides cold resistance, ice resistance, and reduces food consumption.
  • Lazarus Chowder: Slows oxygen consumption, increases regeneration, increases swim speed.
  • Raw Meat: Massive heal to carnivore dinosaurs. Can be force-fed in bulk to heal carnivore dinosaurs.
  • Medical Brew: Excellent self-heal.
  • Mindwipe Tonic: When consumed, this tonic causes neural overload. Synapses fire off too quickly resulting in damage to the memory centers of the brain related to construction.
  • Narcotics: Restores health and raises torpor.
  • Jerky: Sates your hunger and provides health while being digested.
  • Shadow Steak Saute: Huge heat, fire, ice, and cold resistance. Ignores weapon recoil, increase night vision.
  • Stimulants: Excellent stamina recover.
  • Sweet Vegetable Cake: Massive heal to herbivore dinosaurs. Can be force-fed in bulk to heal herbivore dinosaurs.

  • Achatina: Small non-combat snail. Provides cementing paste for the Survivor. Herbivore.
  • Allosaurus: Moderately large dinosaur. Provides the Pack Bonus. Each Allosaurus improves the damage, durability, and effectiveness of each Allosaurus. The Alpha Allosaurus, the strongest of the Pack, deals 1% of the target's health with each attack and slows the enemy. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Angler: Small fish. Strong bite and lights up the area. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Ankylosaurus: Medium sized dinosaur. Slow, high durability. Natural gatherer and transport. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Araneo: Small-Medium Spider. Deals torpor along with damage, can climb up walls, and launch sticky webs that slows enemies. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Archaeopteryx: A small bird. Weak combat ability. Can be used as a makeshift parachute. Carnivore.
  • Argentavis: Large Bird. High combat ability. Slower flight speed. Can grab enemies. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Arthropluera: Large Centipede. Great durability. Slow movement speed. Spits acid and has acidic blood. Carnivore. Rideable.
  • Baryonyx: Moderate sized Dinosaur. Strong against aquatic enemies. Fast swim speed. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Basilosaurus: Large whale-like sea serpent. Strong sea creature. Provides effecient fuel for the Survivor. RIdeable. Carnivore.
  • Beelzebufo: Large frog. Huge jump, poisonous tongue that induces torpor. Naturally creates cementing paste when consuming insects. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Brontosaurus: Huge Dinosaur. Highest health pool. Massive attack range and knockback. Huge Carry weight. Rideable. Has a platform saddle to build on it's pack for Emplacements and Structures. Herbivore
  • Carbonemys: Moderate sized turtle. Huge defenses and health pool. Low damage and movement speed. Good swim speed. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Carnotaurus: Moderately larged dinosaur. Faster run speed. High damage. High knockback. Good damage while charging. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Castoroides: Moderate sized beaver. Good damage. Good swim speed. Good gathering rate. Works as a mobile smithy for construction of items. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Chalicotherium: Large mammal. Good damage, picks up and throws stone and balls of dirt and other objects. Slower movement speed. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Compy: Tiny dinosaur. Works extremely well in large packs, increasing combat effectiveness. Tiny size allows them to slip past defenses. Not rideable. Carnivore.
  • Daeodon: Moderately large mammal. Decent damage, good durability and stamina, huge regeneration rate. Pack bonus. Rideable. Omnivore.
  • Dilophosaur: Moderately small dinosaur. Weak damage, good spitting attack that blinds and slows enemies. Not rideable. Carnivore.
  • Dimetrodon: Small dinosaur. Low combat ability. Reduces fire and ice damage done to nearby allies. This bonus stacks. Not rideable. Carnivore.
  • Dimorphodon: Small but dangerous dinosaur. Good damage. Flyer. Small, fast, hard to hit. Not rideable. Carnivore.
  • Diplocaulus: Small salamander. Weak combat. Allows the Survivor to breathe from it's oxygen pouches. Great swim speed. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Diplodocus: Large dinosaur. No combat ability, but huge durability and stamina. Huge saddle with 8 seats. Herbivore.
  • Direbear: Large bear. Powerful combat ability. Longer it runs, faster it becomes. Rideable. Omnivore.
  • Direwolf: Large wolf. Powerful combat. Good stamina and run speed. Pack bonus. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Dodo: Small non-combat bird. Provides eggs in abudance. Will try to fight but is terrible at it. Not rideble. Herbivore.
  • Doedicurus: Moderately small mammal. Good defensive capacity. Defensive shield when health is low reduce damage by 90%. This applies to it's rider. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Dung Beetle: Small insect. Non-combat. Will attempt to fight but sucks at it. Manipulates matter to turn feces into legitimate oil. Not Rideable. Coprophagic.
  • Dunkleosteus: Large combat fish. Powerful bite, armored head, can break huge rocks with it's teeth. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Electrophorus: Large eel. Good damage, powerful shocking attack that paralyzes enemies.
  • Equus: Large horse. Weak damage but good run speed and stamina. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Gallimimus: Moderately large bipedal dinosaur. Terrible damage, but very fast. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Giant Bee: Large insect. Poisonous stings that increases torpor. Controllable via Queen Bee. Will only attack enemies of the Survivor. Not rideable. Floravore.
  • Giganotosaurus: Massive combat dinosaur. Huge health value. Huge damage. Low stamina. Low speed but huge steps. Might enrage. Deals 5% of enemies total life per bite. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Gigantopithecus: Large Ape. Decent combat damage. Can carry and throw the Survivor. Always angry. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Hesperornis: Medium sized bird. Weak combat damage. Better to avoid fights. Egg provides excellent oil. Not rideable. Piscivore.
  • Hyaenodon: Moderate sized mammal. Pack animal. Tenacious. Very intelligent. Huge health regeneration. Excellent Hunting Dogs. Not Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Ichthy: Moderate size dolphin. Weak combat but extremely fast swim speed. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Ichthyornis: Moderate sized bird. Weak combat ability. Brings treats to the Survivor which provides enhanced healing to the Survivor. Not Rideable. Piscivorous.
  • Iguanodon: Large dinosaur. Moderate combat ability. Can swap between quadrupedal and bipedal stance to improve speed or maneuverability. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Jerboa: Small mammal. Little-to-No combat ability. Minor Precog. Sits on the Survivor's shoulder. Not rideable. Herbivore.
  • Kairuku: Small pengiun. Weak combat ability. Aura that massively improves cold resistence. Not rideable. Piscivore.
  • Kaprosuchus: Moderate sized Reptile. Great combat abilities. Can leap and grab enemies that are comparable to the Survivor. Enemies in the jaw cannot escape until the Kaprosuchus is killed. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Kentrosaurus: Moderately sized dinosaur. Great defensive abilities. Armor-Piercing Spines. Pack Bonuses. Not Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Lamprey: Large eel. Strong teeth that do damage over time. Low health. Not rideable. Carnivore.
  • Liopleurodon: Large aquatic dinosaur. Powerful jaws and a good combat ability. Great at ambushing. Provides oxygen to the Survivor while underwater. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Lymantria: Large Moth. No combat ability, but drops stunning spores that massively slow enemies by 90%. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Lystrosaurus: Small dinosaur. No combat ability, but it's aura increases intelligence. Not rideable. Herbivore.
  • Mammoth: Large mammal. Great combat ability, strong attack and powerful knockback. Rideable. Herbivore.
  • Manta: Small Fish. Amazing combat ability. Can instantly kill enemies comparable to the Survivor. Ignores armor. Rideable. Carnivore.
  • Mantis: Moderate insect. Amazing combat ability. Can wield the Survivor's weapons. Can leap large distances. Rideable. Carnviore.
  • Megalania: Large reptile. Good combat ability. Strong attack. Attack induces torpor. Can climb on walls and other surfaces. Rideable. Carnivore.

Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius. The Survivor can tame almost all animals on the Ark, can create huge structures, perform chemistry and create advanced technology like cloaking, force-fields, plasma weapons, and laser grids.

Weaknesses: Most human weaknesses to a lesser degree.

  • Fire Breath: Lights on fire, deals damage over time, can ignite oil jars.
  • Dilo Spit: Blinds, Slows, and deals damage.

  • Heart Stab: Instantly kills enemies comparable to the Survivor.

  • Squid Ink: Blinds enemies, Tusoteuthis moves faster.

  • Wyvern Breaths: Lightning, Fire, Poison breaths. Fire lights enemies on fire, poison deals damage over time and knocks enemies out, lightning fires straight beam that also knocks enemies out.
  • Summon Spiders: Summons several spiders that bite, spray webbing that slows, and knock enemies unconscious.

  • Beartrap: Traps enemy in place, requires explosive damage to break.
  • Mantis Weapon Wield: Tamed Mantis' can use any weapons the Survivor has (Check Equipment for Details).
  • Oil Jar and Fire Arrow: Lights enemies on fire.
  • Bola: Throws a Bola at an enemy that prevents movement, including flying.
  • Stone Throw: Throws a huge stone that deals damage in a large area.
  • Deploy Parachute: Massively slows down fall speed, allowing the Survivor to survive big falls. Can be used as a Glider.
  • TEK Helmet and Grenades: By employing the TEK Helmet that prevents vision obscuring and poison immunity, the Survivor uses Smoke Grenades to make a wall of obscuring smoke to blind his/her enemies, or a Poison Grenade to knock enemies unconscious.
  • Loud Roar: By utilizing a Gigantosaurus, Rex, etc, the Survivor causes his/her Pet to roar extremely loud, terrifying enemies.
  • Attack My Target!: The Survivor orders his/her entire pet army to attack an indivdual target. They attack without remorse or fear, attacking enemies thousands of times their size and strength.
  • Pachy Headcharge: The Pachy charges forward and rams an enemy, dealing high damage and applying a large amount of Torpor.
  • Platform Weapons: The Survivor mounts an emplacement like a Minigun Turret or Rocket Turret to fire at enemies.
  • Armor Shred: Certain pets quickly destroy enemy armor.
  • Thief!: The Pegomastax steals equipment from the enemy.
  • Barrel Roll: The Survivor commands his/her mounted Pterandon to do a combat roll, dealing high damage and knocking enemies back,
  • Purlovian Ambush: The Survivor sets a trap of his loyal Purlovias that burrow into the ground.
