Summary
The original "The Binding of Isaac" is an indie roguelike game designed by Edmund McMillen, where one explores the dying dreams of a little kid named Isaac. It has been credited as one of the first great indie games, and has been an inspiration for many modern roguelikes. The original game was released in 2011, and received various updates throughout the years, culminating in an edition known as Wrath of the Lamb.
In cooperation with Nicalis, a remake of The Binding of Isaac was released in 2014, titled "The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth". Three DLCs have been released for Rebirth, titled Afterbirth, Afterbirth+ and Repentance, with the latter being released in 2021. A couple spin-offs also exist: The Legend of Bum-Bo, a puzzle game released in 2019, and The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, a card game released in 2018, later receiving an expansion of its own known as Four Souls Requiem, released in 2021.
Power of the Verse
Characters range from Wall level for fodder enemies to City Block level for stronger bosses, but never break past Subsonic in speed. However, Isaac himself is gifted with quite the variety of hax thanks to the many items at his disposal
