Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Immortality (Types 1, 2 and sometimes 3), Mind Manipulation (spirit-eaters), Heat Resistance (sunsprites), Text Destruction (Bibliophages), Void Manipulation (their bites and scratches can fester and infect the victim with Nothing, eventually destroying them)

Attack Potency: Building level to Small Country level, depending on the type of Nithling

Speed: Ranges from Subsonic to FTL

Lifting Strength: Superhuman

Striking Strength: Building Class to Small Country Class

Durability: Building level to Small Country level depending on the type of Nithling

Standard Equipment: Nonoe notable

Intelligence: Mostly low, though with predatory instincts; Fetchers have the intelligence of street thugs; new Nithlings are as smart and creative as mortals, re-exposure to Nothing (though sometimes Nothing just changes them)

Weaknesses: Different Nithlings have different weaknesses (Fetchers cannot enter a building without permission and are weak to salt, Scouchers are weak to silver)

Notable Individuals: The Skinless Boy, Feverfew (half Nithling, half former mortal), Ugham, Elephant

Types of Nithling:

  • Fetchers - Easily made dog faced henchmen used for dirty work throughout the house and the Secondary Realms, though they cannot enter a building without permission, and are killed by salt and silver
  • Bibliophages - Snakes that spit Nothing who attack and devour words
  • Scouchers - Tentacled shapeshifters with great strength created when Nothing seeps out, are killed by silver and other metals
  • Sunsprites - Nithlings that escaped from the House to become a part of the Secondary Realms, in this case, becoming living plasma that live within stars
  • Gore-Draken - Sea monsters formed from Nothing coming into contact with lost items in the Border Sea
  • Spirit-Eaters - Creatures made from a seed item that is used to replace their temporal spot in the House or Secondary Realms, they create a special fungus which allows them to control their victims
  • Not-Horses - A near creation made by Grim Tuesday for the armies of the Architect, they are like horses, though faster & greater in stamina with metal skin
  • Grannow-Honichs - Rare and violent Nithlings that take the form of pure Nothing within a silver wireframe, massive in size and will go to great lengths to defeat their prey
  • Newniths - Soldiers of the Piper and near creations, they possess the intelligence and creativity of mortals and the strength of denizens, though they would rather be farmers then soldiers
