To put it in short as I'm going to sleep and it's late here on my end: No. you need to have it at 7 votes. I'm pretty sure that rule applies just like with the 7 votes first gets a win thing of the characters.
1) Not really AFAIK. There's no character that i found that can control said thing. Let alone on a grand scale like the whole universe itself. Though i believe Trexalfa can answer that better seeing as he's recently got into it, but he's not as far into it as he would with the Masadaverse.
2) This one, i actually thought it was the case but then the ACF wikia listed them as Tier 1-ish. The problem about this, however, is that they all come from a higher dimension or higher DIMENSIONS which can literally mean anything from the 4th dimension to above. But i currently have no info about it and i was told that Trexalfa hasn't gotten deep into it enough either to know the exact extent they go up to.
1. Yeah, pretty much. It's just that it's only on a localized scale that they can affect up to. In a sense, it's sort of like the Hadou Briah's from Dies Irae or like the reality marbles from Nasuverse.
2. Well so far I've put them to like universal+ by virtue of being stated to our three dimensional world and all of its aspects.
3. Can't say. The first Esperanto that I managed to look up on is being Christopher so he could be that but it's been around for over a thousand years in the universe and, if what I got is right, there's been people before his time that has managed to use it so.....take that of what you will.
If you discount the recent VN of Trinity? It would be the truth there, yes. But Trinity has shown us that Zephyr isn't the only one with Anti Astral Particles for him to utilize.
Okay, i'm back so i might as well answer this for ya.
if you have seen the pages from Vendetta, you more or less already know what they can do so that's that. Especially from Kagutsuchi's page.
For Trinity, there's more that has come onto to add for the verse. Kerberos is not much other than adding the ability to induce death to everything that's living in the 3-D world and nulling attacks that aren't just Astral-based.
One in particular comes from a man who was one of the first Esperantos to appear alongside Christopher Valzelide as well as being just as strong as him (though inferior overall), who has this ability of his where any time he cuts someone with his sword, he can cause some "application" to their body that essentially acts like a bomb for him top trigger and explode on them....or something. The great advantage to this is that it's invisible in both applying it to them and affecting them with it, so they won't have any idea as to what the heck just happened until after they exploded. It's hard to explain it fully and clearer as i'm going through whatever i found of him to do his page and ability...
That's just one. Others are more simple such as one being able to control her threads that she possess which can be used to strangle someone with and such.....really simple and not exactly powerful compared to others but still deadly as a sort of assassination weapon. And then there's one who can manipulate water that she can use to do things like suffocate someone with it or create a barrier of water around her to block enemy attacks.
There's still more like the main protag who can become something akin to a "sun in the form and size of a human". Which COULD mean that he's really powerful but we have no way of quantifying a human sized/shaped sun so....but he's really powerful with that along with creating a sun that floats up in the sky when he uses that ability. And that's just his Base ability for him.
That is one formiddable verse of what you just said right there, my friend. I am amaze that Silverio manage to get this far in term of hax and ability.
Does a character who can used Astral Particle used or mimic other Esperantos law or is that specific power only exclusive to them ? Aside from Kagutsuchi, I am curious if they can do this but didnt know how to do it.
Yeah it's only their hax that keeps them going. It's like the Masadaverse. Power-wise and stuff, they're gonna get off-satted(??) by a lot of verses that trump them in power, but their soul-hax plus other haxes and even resistances is what kind of makes them really known for....which i seriously hope people on this wikia get that idea cause really, they're not gonna win against powerhouse verses like Toriko or Dragon Ball in pure power. Hax, most likely. Raw power alone even when you count Dies Irae Reinhard and peaked power Kuubou, no way.
In general? No, they cannot. Whatever Asterism ability they have, that's what they have. They cannot mimic another characters ability. Kagutsuchi is able to use several characters abilities due to some micro computer or something in his brain that allows him to do such a thing. Ashley Horizon has a unique ability where he can copy other peoples Asterisms just by taking their abilities head on (and if you ask, this is only exclusive for Silverio so he's never gonna take some jutsus from Naruto or even something from the Nasuverse and be able to use them....though that would be badass if he could if you ask me). And he later, just like Kagutsuchi and Zephyr, has a Sphere ability that allows him to use dozens, if not hundreds of Asterisms at a time due to its ability to allow two or more to "co-exist" even if they have the worst compatibility to use in-conjunction with one another.
I see you love discussing vs battles, you should checkout vs battle amino. It's an easy to use app that enjoys friendly debates and would welcome you with open arms. http://aminoapps.com/c/join-the-battle
Well not really. I would if it interests me enough and if it doesn't go as.....well cringy as i've seen. Mainly in the sense of "are people going to like actually put effort in debating 'properly'?" and such. Plus the reason i'm doing all of this is so i can break off this wikia's "meta" or something.....which is simply to break off from using the same characters.....over and over and over again. I do have a list of characters that's been overused if you'd like to see. Though i have comments on there that may seem rather offensive or something but as it's my doc and of my opinions......honestly had to put it there. Just to let you know.
I've heard of it and all, but doesn't seem like i'd go for it much. But thank you for the offer at least, though.
It was just made the other day by a group of debaters I know, we all hate reusing the same matchups. we're all about uniqueness, you may enjoy it if you give it a try. I mean there's nothing to lose from it, and there's a few people from here there too. It's like this site but a lot easier to use.
Well he's banned anyways and plus, i heard from another user of ours here that some person is impersonating me over there like a dick using my own name.
Aside that, i decided to not go for it anyways and just stick to here. Bad enough i have to constantly hate everyone here but at least i know people here at the same time. Hating another group of more people that i don't know, i wouldn't take it.
Anyways Ant, i'll take your word of this and i'm gonna close this up so i don't get anybody to just post a random comment on my wall for whatever reason other than to piss me off (not you since you're at least helping me not pick this offer).
Hey Cross, I saw the Kars vs Reinhard thread and understood where everyone was coming from. However, most threads with non-popular characters tend to be left behind and forgotten.
Anyway, just wanted your opinion on who should fight Kiara Sessyoin. I was thinking of a Touhou character, but only Yukari comes to mind. It would be a great help if you could help me find a better opponent as Yukari kinda falls under 'popular and overused'.
Did you, or did you decide to just be like everyone whose lazy and don't want to go do character searching?
I don't care about this, that's up to you who to find to fight her. And as i told someone this, Yukari's nothing more than a bitch of a meme who should not be brought up to me in terms of versus debating.
Hello! I've become rather intrigued by the Masadaverse and I think I would like to read the novels. I enjoy the music, like the original and aesthetically pleasing character designs, and am intrigued by its themes and prose. I do have just a few questions, though, and I would greatly appreciate it if you would help me in this regard:
1.) Are there any series translated into English? I heard Dies Irae wouuld be getting an official translation soon, but I know fans have made unofficial translations for other popular VNs not released in English.
2.) Does the Masadaverse convey its exposition better than, say, the Holy Shonen Trio (in which characters stand about in the middle of a battle and prattle on about how such and such an ability works, etc.)? I know the Masadaverse ingeniously writes many of its characters to be powered by the Taikyoku, a source that enhances the plot and tone of the verse instead of being just another McGuffin, and I like how characters have powers that relfect their personality instead of just progressing the plot; but I would like to make sure any doubts I might have are unfounded.
3.) Which VN in the Masadaverse do you recommend as a starting point?
My apologies if I'm being a bother, and thank you for your time.
Well first, do you understand Japanese? And by that, i mean do you know how to understand AND read it very well? Because:
1) All of Masada Takeshi's VN's are untranslated, with the exception of Dies Irae that's getting one released this month later in fact. Things like Masada's earliest work of Paradise Lost (not that one, of course) to that of his separate series of Senshinkan, don't have any translations and, if they were to, it wouldn't be for a long time....at least for all except Paralost.
2) No, they do not AFAIK. The narration in the VN explains it for them, not themselves. Though i believe they do at times but not for all of them. And no, that's false. Unless you're referring to the Hadou and Gudou Gods, none of them sans the current God (ex. Dies Irae's being Mercurius) have Taikyoku on them. Otherwise, even just having a value of 1 would make them 1-A. Albeit a shit one by their standards, but a 1-A regardless. They simply rely on the power of souls....or something. But that's for Dies Irae at least. I can't say the same for Paralost (It's prequel and essential "start" of Shinza Bansho series.....at least until Masada ever decides to do a story about theseguys later on, that is) or Kajiri Kamui Kagura (it's sequel but technically it's non-canon or an alternative continuation), however. And yes, their powers are based on their desires, really. Which is what Briah (The 3rd stage of Mercury's Magical system of Die Ewigkeit) bases itself on.
3) That's something i can't tell you if i have no idea if you know Japanese or not. The only one you'd be able to go for now is just the ENG translation of Dies Irae. The others, you pretty much can't. Even if you did know Japanese and can read all of them, you'd have to have some really good understanding of Japanese in order to read them properly. That's something that i believe Trexalfa and EvilMegaCookie, two of the only known people who have read the series themselves personally, told me to a while back. There's also people like VenomElite and the latters sister Tsubaki Blue who have read the series deeply as well like the former two, Tsubaki in particular knows it REALLY well as it's favorite VN out of them all and one she's read the most out of iirc from what Ven told me.
Oh, it's too bad about them not being in English. Still, it's good news to hear Dies Irae will be seeing an English release soon! Hopefully it will be successful enough to prompt more English releases or at least a sizeable fanbase to make unofficial ones. The series is really interesting to me, and I hope I can get acquainted with it someday. I like howeven the powers and fight sequences reflect the character's characters, as they should (my bad for mixing up the Briahs and Taikyoku, btw).
Thank you very much for your time! Here's hoping the series will be successful!
...Say, it's good to see a fellow Kingdom Hearts fan, by the way. I've been considering replaying 1, 2, and the games I missed after I'm done with some revisions I've promised to help out with. It's been too long...
It is bad, yes. My personal fave is the Senshinkan series due to its concept of using Dreams as powers and the characters being rather cool and awesome. That would really depend on how much successful the ENG version of DI plus it's anime that's coming later this year will go. And to the thing of "oh there OP plz nerf", those are the kind of people who should go fuck themselves. Thats even from a few of the staff themselves who can't at least come to me or Everlasting or even Redgrave or, much more preferably, the ones i mentioned above who actually personally read the series, to go find out more about them.
It doesn't help that i already hate them for many other reasons.....though my hatred of them helps because that's one of the only current reasons why i'm here still and not quitting out of rage of this place and it's people: To hate them for many reasons. And this is allowed because unlike anyone here or at least most people, i'm honest about how i feel. Even the bureaucrats like Antvasima and Kavpeny knows i hate them yet i also respect them too at the same time, which they appreciate for my blunt and honesty. If only i can at least tone it down at times but knowing myself, that wouldn't help much. That's fine, just make a note of this to not make that mistake next time. Also, Taikyoku is not just the source of power for the Gods, it's also a name for Atziluth in Dies Irae as well as being a sort of value thing......if you've read our verse page and explanation page about them, hopefully. I really wish people who are interested in the verse can just take the time to read them fully and, if they can understand it enough, try to give themselves some thoughts of it.
Trust me, Freeman. There's not a lot of verses that can get me addicted to something like this aside those like Kingdom Hearts, My Hero Academia, JJBA, and now currently this series right here called "KiraKira Precure A La Mode" (If you go through my profile rn and go down to "Akira Kenjou/Cure Chocolat", you'll know one of the main reasons why i'm into it ^^;). But Masada's VN's, even though i am unable to read them due to not knowing Japanese well, definitely comes as a top fave of mines.
It's no problem. At least you have some interest and bothered to put an answer that's not going "Okay then." like somebody else did to me.....which i interpreted as being rude. Though the person was not interested in looking for info online of the series, the fact he went "okay then" was something i got extremely mad about. And i told you this before that the way i am now, i'm more pissed at anything that may come off as rude to me.....but yeah, its good you have some sort of interest in it.
KH is really good, yes. I only played KH 2.5 HD edition but it's a really interesting series and one i also like. Especially as its concept of going to different worlds and helping them as well as making friends over there.....and i guess enemies too, reminds me of my own personal OCverse i have over at FC/OC.
Yeah, having hax is great and all for debates, but hax is everywhere. From what I can tell, the Masadaverse is unique in how it presents that stuff in a natural manner instead of just trying to garner hype. It's too bad it's seen as being like Suggsverse Jr. or something, but I'm sure no harm is meant by those who say that. Heck, at one point in time I fell into that crowd but then I noticed how everything developed the characters and realized there was a lot to love. Maybe there will be enough interst garnered so that when stuff is translated, everyone can see the quality of the writing at work here. Don't let 'em bother you, it'll probably work out well in the end.
Yes, I've liked Kingdom Hearts for a while now, but it's been a very long time since I played the games. I have copies of the originals (can't afford new consoles, lol), so after I'm done with Chrono Cross and Super Hydlide (of all things) I think I'll dust 'em off and relive the memories. Also, I wanna see about this stuff that wasn't in the English release of one of the games, but I guess it's probalby in the remakes.
Oh, no problem, man! I signed up here mainly because it's a place where folks know about all sorts of stuff instead of specializing in only one thing. It's neat to learn about new series and meet cool people! I really appreciate your taking the time to chat with me; I can tell it's really busy being in the shoes of the staff here.
People here, unlike outside forums, don't bother to get their heads out of that. I mean i understand in a versus debate, yeah. But when it's not in a versus debate and just talking about them, it'll just be about hax this hax that.....depending on the verse in question and all but yeah.
I've read about that comparison, yes.
I try to, but when somebody has to make a stupid fucking comment that's so off from what happened in the actual VN's? I have to go in, get angry, explain to them why their comment is wrong, then leave after i'm done. Weather or not they take my explanation doesn't matter to me.
Yeah, imagine if one were to say, write a review with that sort of mentality? I feel dumb just because I'm guilty of slighting the Masadaverse in a less destructive capacity in the past, but anyway.
Say, I think I might know of a series you may like, since you like the gameplay of Kingdom Hearts. Have you ever heard of a little series called Ys (that's pronounced fleece without the fl)? It is another action JRPG series with huge historical significance to the genre. Hereissomeamazingmusicfromtheseries. I can tell you more, if you're interested.
(Shrugs) Beats me on that. Masada's Protags and Antags, outside of the gods, aren't really that physically powerful really. I mean to some extent they are, with some extreme hard hitters like Nakiri Kuubou and Methuselah, but it's their hax that makes it up for their weight class. Heck i read a comment that Trex said that someone like Heracles from Toriko could literally just sneeze on Reinhard of DI and he's get smashed to paste. Of course his regeneration will help recover from that but if not for the soul damage hax he has, his best (which is through WoG scaling) would not leave a sctratch on Heracles. This is of course if he's just doing a close-range hit and not using any of his Legionierres powers or throwing his spear to use its special properties.
Don't think i could be interested in that. The one i have with KH is to do with bonds and things relating to the heart, which i translate in some personal way as having to do with things emotionally, which is how i see things in the world around me and how i have to cope with it.
It's the abilities that win a match, anyway. With the Masadaverse, fights are like a puzzle. Could X use his Briah to catch Y off guard? Could Z use an ability to use the environment to his advantage? It keeps the audience engaged and allows the writing an opportunity to develop character in the fights. Recently I saw John Wick 2 in theaters, and I was amazed how John and the bodyguard of the VIP he killed didn't share much dialogue, but one could tell exactly what they thought of each other through the fight. They didn't take cheap shots, they would feint to try to get an idea of what the other was capable of, they seemed to show begruding respect for each other, etc. From what I can tell, Masada's one of the few writers who take an opportunity to explore such things in his fight scenes instead of just letting the showcasing of power alone to carry the scene.
Oh, okey dokey, then. I can relate to that. Still, hope you liked the music! If you really like Kingdom Hearts music, btw, check out the ost for Saga Frontier 2. It's great studying music!
These verses have definite tiering and measurable power. The characters can fit into set tiers, and are much easier to describe. They're varied, so it's going to be a wild ride. Existence Key now has it's own wiki, so you won't have to worry about my misbehavior and arrogance anyomore.
The other verses I have now are as follows:
Genre: Science Fantasy
Description: A heavily Star Wars inspired verse following the Cyberai Warriors, who protect Neo-Earth from threats both alien and earthly.
Tier Cap: 2-B
Genre: Sci/Fi Action Satire (Think One Punch Man with Robots)
Description: A brave group of heroes are trapped in an arena where they must battle increasingly dangerous androids and attack drones. The arena itself is controlled by a maniacal A.I. known as "Yuko".
Tier Cap: High 3-A, Possibly Low 2-C
~Gehenna City Demon Squad:
Genre: Dark Fantasy w/ Comedy Elements
Description: Rebellious demon teenagers from the underworld city of Gehenna enact a crusade to take over all 9 Circles of Hell. Each circle is governed by a different tyrannical ruler, but little do they realize that they're all the pawns of Satan himself.
Tier Cap: 5-B w/ very potent Hax
Genre: High Fantasy
Description: Katheryn Hopewill, a teenager with the heart of a warrior, takes on the mysterious forces of the Nova. She must journey throughout the World of Wakening to collect fragments of a legendary weapon.
~Currently Unnamed Verse
Genre: Dark Fantasy
Description: The world has been drowned in an endless darkness. Out of this darkness rises a loathsome array of evil creatures. Vaeryous Shadows, known simply as Shadow, is an incredibly powerful Wraith. He decides to rebel against his creator, the Overlich, in order to rule the world. Only after defeating his master can he become free of eternal servitude.
Sorry to bother you, but I recently finished the first Mugen Souls game and decided to check if we had pages for that since I was curious as to how the characters were rated. I realized we apparently had some character pages I hadn't really noticed, though those were deleted a while ago. Could I ask what was wrong with them?
Because the guy who made it, who i blocked for a being a constant annoyance with his Touhou related threads, made them poorly in various reasons/ways: Poor format, his reasonings didn't make any sense nor was the justifications were either, and didn't had anything else to back them up and such.....
If you want to do them, you can make them yourself.
Thanks. I kind of understand the problems. At least for the first game, there's barely any feats if you discount the animations for some of the ultimate attacks, and I'm not sure if those are valid like the ones from Disgaea since they kind of go a little against the plot.
I might give it a shot in the future, I'm basically in the post-maingame stuff but I don't know how much grinding I'll have to do to complete it...
Sorry to bother you again, I made a quick rundown of what the stats of the verse would be and I addressed the issues I mentioned, plus what I guess was the source of the stats in the deleted pages. Could you give me your opinion on them?
