Melty Blood (メルティブラッド Meruti Buraddo), is a visual novel and fighting game extension of Tsukihime, co-developed by dōjin circles Type-Moon and French-Bread, originally released at Comiket on December 2002. It is shortened as simply Merubura (メルブラ?). Based on Type Moon's visual novel game, Tsukihime, it later spawned an arcade version, titled Act Cadenza, that was developed by Ecole Software and has also been ported to the PlayStation 2. Act Cadenza is the first Type-Moon title to receive a console release. A manga version by Takeru Kirishima has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace.
This takes place directly after a route in Tsukihime that was scrapped due to time constraints. The game consists of an original and several expansions with tweaks in balance and extra stages, new modes and characters added. Being an extension of Tsukihime, it shares many of the same characters. New additions to the casts are made along with alternate versions of the existing casts. Even characters from alternate universes make a cameo.
The Power of the Verse
As a fighting universe it's powerful, with the same Feats listing as Tsukihime along with full powered versions of the cast. This is also part of the huge Nasuverse. Also, appears for the first time the "ArcheType" of Arcueid Brunestud the Gaia's Ultimate One.
