Marshall Law is a character from the Tekken series of fighting games. He appears first in the original Tekken and is playable in almost every other game in the series. In the first game, he is a chef who enters the King of Iron Fist Tournament for the fame and also to win enough money to start his own martial arts dojo. Despite not winning the tournament, he is able to gather the funds and start his own dojo. However, when his students are attacked by another contestant, Beak Doo San. This causes him to enter the second tournament.
Later, Law would enter the fourth tournament. This would be due to more financial troubles, as his fast food chain, Marshall China, had lost a franchise war. This forced Law into declaring bankruptcy. When he learned of the next tournament, he jumped at the opportunity to enter. Unfortunately for him, he did not win. This forced him to stay in Japan as a dishwasher. On top of the money he needs to raise to go home, his son, Forest Law, had crashed his best friend's motorcycle. This causes him to enter the fifth tournament.
During the fifth tournament, Marshall Law's illegal working status in Japan was found out, causing him to be deported back to the United States. He still had to pay for the motrocycle damages, so he enters again. This time he forms a team with Paul Phoenix and Steve Fox, a renowned boxer, for a sixth time. Whether his plan was successful is soon to be known.
