Khârn the Betrayer Updated
I am the eightfold path.

Kharn betrayer-internal
I have slain many enemies, and won many battles and I tell you there is no great secret to success in war, no subtle trick of strategy that has saved my foes -- I seek out the enemy, attack as soon as I am able and with all the force at my command, rend his soldiers and smash his fortresses, leave only corpses behind me and then move on -- thus my Primarch has taught me, and I find his wisdom has proved worthy on a hundred battlefields.

Summary

Only a fool takes Khârn for a mindless brute or rabid dog. Under that blood-soaked helm lurks an intelligence and cunning that makes him a masterful killer - trust me when I say that there is a dark purpose in his madness.
~ Abaddon regarding Kharn's nature

Khârn is a member of the World Eaters Traitor Legion of Chaos Space Marines, and the greatest mortal Champion of Khorne. He currently leads his own World Eaters warband called the Butcherhorde. Second only to the World Eaters Daemon Primarch Angron in aggression and bloodlust, Khârn has lived a life of murder and betrayal, the blood spilt and skulls collected for his patron beyond counting. In battle Khârn is always where the fighting is at its thickest, wielding his heavy Chainaxe Gorechild, once wielded by the Primarch himself. Khârn has dedicated his millennia-long existence to unleashing bloody carnage upon anyone and anything within reach. He is drawn by the scent of war as a hungering hound is drawn by fresh meat, and it has become impossible to tally his slaying.

Khârn is called the Betrayer because of an incident on the Daemon World of Skalathrax. Fighting against the Emperor's Children, the World Eaters needed just one more victory over Fulgrim's warriors before the planet could be claimed in Khorne's name. The battle had to be won before Skalathrax's long, frozen night drew in and killed victor and vanquished alike. Yet the World Eaters could gain no ground against their foes and were hurled back time after time by the devastating Sonic Weapons of the Noise Marines. Khârn cursed his fellow warriors for failing in the attack and, seizing a Flamer, he torched the nearest buildings in a gesture of contempt. He cut down those who tried to stop him and marched into the gloom, consuming the city in flames as he went and slaughtering all that he found, friend or foe. Anarchy engulfed the World Eaters as they fell upon each other, and the Legion was irrevocably split into hundreds of individual warbands. Since that bloody day, Khârn has been Khorne's most ardent warrior, hunting the Eye of Terror as the head of a World Eaters warband, slaughtering any worthy enough to be killed in Khorne's name.

Powers and Stats

Tier: At least 8-C, likely 8-B | 8-B

Key: Heresy-Era | Post-Heresy

Name: Khârn the Betrayer, the Bloody, the Twice Un-Slain, the Ender

Origin: Warhammer 40,000

Gender: Male

Age: Over 10,000 years old

Classification: Chaos Space Marine, Chaos Champion of Khorne, Former Captain of the World Eaters' 8th Assault Company

Powers and Abilities:

Space Marine Physiology, Weapon Mastery (One of the most skilled weapon wielders in the entire galaxy) and Martial Arts (Khârn is among the most dangerous and capable fighters currently alive in the galaxy, having a massive myriad of foes and having come out on top most of the time. His battle skill and experience is contested by few beings, and even fewer still mortals), Vehicular Mastery, Durability Negation (Via Gorechild[1]), Plasma Manipulation (Via Plasma Pistol)

All previous abilities plus Immortality (Types 4 and 8; if he is killed, Khorne will resurrect him[2]), Blessed (As the greatest of Khorne's mortal champions, Khârn possesses the blessings of the Blood God[3], which enhance his abilities as well as gifting him with terrible new ones), Soul Manipulation and Non-Physical Interaction (Gorechild consumes the souls of those it kills, feeding them to Khorne[4]) and limited BFR (Only once his opponents are killed, their souls are sent to be consumed by Khorne), Power Nullification, Regeneration Negation (Low-Godly), and Immortality Negation (Types 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 9; Via the collar of Khorne[5], which drains Warp energy around it, depowering individuals who utilize said energy. His weapons, blessed by the Blood God also, can negate even daemons' immortality and regeneration, inflicting permanent death on them[4]), Enhanced Durability Negation and Reality Warping (As a Daemonic Weapon[4], Gorechild should be capable of violating the laws of physics to go past armor to strike foes directly[6]), Berserk Mode (Although constantly in an enraged state due to the presence of the Butcher's Nails[7] as well as Khorne's influence, in battle Khârn accumulates a truly mindboggling rage that drives him to slaughter all in his path, friend or foe), Rage Power (Courtesy of the Mark of Khorne[5]), Statistics Amplification (The blessings of Khorne allow for one to grow in both strength and speed[8]), Blood Manipulation and Aura (Is surrounded[9] by a[10] blood[11] mist[10] that corrupts space and time, through which Daemons of Khorne constantly manifest), Immunity to Psychic Powers (Thanks to the blessings of Khorne[3], Khârn is immune to all psychic powers used against him), Resistance to Mind Manipulation, Empathic Manipulation, and Pain Manipulation (Has resisted attacks from Lashes of Slaanesh which overwhelm one's senses with pleasure and pain[4] and mental attacks "a thousand times stronger" than the Lashes which were able to influence lesser Berserkers of Khorne[4])

Attack Potency: At least Building level, likely City Block level (Considered to be in the top-most of space marine duellists, even before falling to Khorne. Capable of killing skilled marines in mere seconds[12]. Defeated[13] Sigismund in his prime. Completely outclassed first-chaplain Erebus of the Word Bearers[14], who could duel[14] Lucius on equal footing) | City Block level (Has killed multiple Greater Daemons. Stated to be more dangerous than a group of daemon engines powered by some of Khorne's best Bloodthirsters. Was able to kill a Lord of Change when hunting for Azrael, and outclassed the Supreme Grand Master in their fight[15]. Regularly engages with and defeats incredibly powerful Daemonic entities. Khârn has fought Saint Celestine and killed her[11]. He also briefly fought and slightly wounded[16] Abaddon the Despoiler in their encounter, though the Warmaster was at least somewhat holding back), attacks from Gorechild ignore conventional and magical defenses in addition to absorbing souls (Should be like that of the Axes of Khorne, with one having been able to cut through Magnus's armor and even bypass his magical defenses[17])

Speed: At least Subsonic movement speed (Should be far faster than a regular Marine), with at least Hypersonic, likely far higher combat and reaction speed (Blitzed Erebus[14]. Sliced a Khornate Berserker in half before he even knew what happened. Has battled against both Saint Celestine and Abaddon the Despoiler. Could somewhat track the movement of his father Primarch, Angron, although otherwise was totally outmatched) and FTL perception speed (Veteran Astartes can react to information in nanoseconds[18])

Lifting Strength: At most Class K (Was able to, with great difficulty, push back an attack from Daemon Angron[19]) | Class K (Was able to grapple and physically contend with Abaddon[16], though he was holding back)

Striking Strength: At least Building level, likely City Block level | City Block level

Durability: At least Bulding Level, likely City Block level (Survived numerous blows from pre-Heresy Angron which has killed many other members of his Legion almost instantly[20]. With great[19] difficulty[19], was able to parry attacks from Daemon Angron[19] which literally kill lesser marines[21]) | City Block level (Is capable of tanking powers meant to put down Greater Daemons without so much as a scratch. Fought Abaddon[16] and survived his attacks in their encounter[16])

Stamina: Superhuman (Even regular Astartes can go on fighting for weeks on end with no rest. Has survived numerous horrific injuries and kept going. Was beaten into nearly a bloody pulp by Angron and still had the strength to stand up. Was impaled straight through by the dozer blades of a tank and survived, continuing to fight during the Isstvan atrocities)

Range: Extended Melee Range, Hundreds of Meters with Plasma Pistol

Feats: See here.

Standard Equipment:

  • Gorechild: An ancient Chainaxe once wielded by Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters. After the broken weapon was discarded by the Primarch, Khârn enlisted the help of the greatest members of the Dark Mechanicus to restore the weapon to its former glory. Now a hideous, Warp-based daemon weapon, Gorechild tears through flesh, bone, and metal all the same, sucking the souls of its victims and feeding them to the ever ravenous Blood God.
  • Plasma Pistol: Khârn wields an arcane plasma pistol, a weapon capable of firing superheated matter as hot as a suns core despite its diminutive size. While its range is relatively limited, its form makes it easy to utilize in close combat, as well.
  • Blessing of the Blood God: Khârn is the most favoured mortal servant of Khorne, and is accordingly granted protection against witchery by his patron. This favour allows Khârn complete immunity to reality warping, mind control, psychic assaults, magic, etc. If it does not fall under honorable martial combat, Khorne will prevent it, forcing Khârn's enemies to face him on an equal playing field.
  • Daemonic Power Armor: Khârn wears a suit of daemonic power armor adorned with numerous sigils. Not only does this grant him the immense durability normally supplied by power armor, but the daemonic forces possessing his suit allow him to take even more punishment, often shrugging off hits which should have destroyed his body.

Intelligence: At least Gifted (One among his Legion's most talented officers, and easily it's best fighter aside from the Primarch Angron. Has over ten thousand years of experience fighting against an uncountable and incomprehensibly large number of foes, most of which he has slain), lower when in a rage

Weaknesses: Due to the effects of both Khorne's "blessings" and the Butcher's Nails inserted into his brain, he is prone to absolutely losing his mind in a battle, slaughtering everything in his path without consideration or higher thought.
