Belgium-born action-film star Jean-Claude Van Damme has showcased his patented splits and acrobatic kicks in such movies as Bloodsport.
A champion martial artist and bodybuilder as a teenager, he used his physical abilities to become the star of such American action flicks as Bloodsport (1988) and Double Impact (1991). Van Damme endured personal and professional difficulties beginning in the 1990s, but has since regained some of his star power.

- 360 Crescent Kick/Helicopter kick: This move is used by Van Damme in almost every movie he is in. He jumps and executes a 360 degree turn while keeping his body perpendicular to the ground, when he is turning he extends one of his legs and kicks the opponent in the face with it. Here is a compilation of the move .
- Din Mak/Press artery/Touch of death: It is a very specific strike given in a specific body part. The real life version of this move (Seen in the movie, "Bloodsport") consists of hitting with the palm of the hand with enough force to cause internal damage to the opponent.
