Summary

Deep in Brinstar lies the first general of the Space Pirates... Kraid.

However, when Super Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission were released they seemed to have changed the role entirely, with Kraid now being the weakest of the four generals. Despite that, it is still named the Awakened Behemoth, a counterpart of Ridley's name. It was originally going to have a Meta form (Much like Ridley) but it was dropped in favor of the Omega Pirate. Yes, its story is one of plot inconvenience, but Kraid still possesses tremendous power keeping it on the level of some of the basic suits of Samus Aran.

Kraid, or at least a creature similar to Kraid, appears in Metroid Dread as the boss Samus faces in Cataris, the lava filled area on the planet ZDR.

Origin: Metroid

Gender: Unknown

Height: Around 20 meters (65.6 feet)

Age: Unknown

Classification: Space Pirate General

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Bodily Weaponry, Body Control (Can fire its body parts such as nails and claws as weapons; can launch organic spikes from his stomach; shoots balls from his stomach and mouth), Regeneration (High-Low; Can recover said lost body parts in a matter of moments, possibly higher), Invulnerability, Large Size (Type 1), Breath Attack, Earth Manipulation (Can shoot rocks from his mouth), Fire Manipulation (Can release fireballs from his mouth), Resistance to Extreme Heat (Capable of withstanding the lava and the temperatures in Cataris, which are only accessible with the Varia Suit)

Lifting Strength: Class M (Lives in under 960x the gravity of Earth, weighs quite a lot. Comparable to Samus and Ridley)

Striking Strength: Island level (Constantly strikes Samus Aran with his claws) | Multi-Continent level (Harms Samus with his claws)

Range: About a few meters (Via sheer size), higher with projectiles

Standard Equipment: His nails and claws

Intelligence: High (Led the Space Pirate Army alongside the other generals)

Weaknesses: The inside of Kraid's mouth is far more vulnerable to damage than the rest of his body and so whenever he needs to breathe he blocks attacks directed at it with his claws. Attacking his eyes can cause him to open his mouth.

Notes: It is unknown whether the Kraid in Metroid Dread is the same as the one in previous games, or rather another member of his species. While he is referred to in game as Kraid through the Mission Log and Maps, Metroid Dread Report Volume 6 states that he is "a giant monster that appears to be Kraid, a beast Samus has fought in previous games."
