Matt is the cousin of Andrew Detmer and one of Chronicle's protagonists. Though initially introduced as someone who drifted away from Andrew and dislikes him, the two have since fixed their relationship due to unlocking their powers.

Speed: Average Human, Supersonic in reactions, combat, and flight speed (Enhanced by telekinesis. Reacted to an airplane that appeared in front of them. Should be able to keep up with Andrew)

Intelligence: Academically smart but nothing out of the ordinary. Still smarter than Andrew though, even though he has less flair to his telekinetic powers.
Weaknesses: Physically, he's still just human. Needs to consciously react against each attack to block them. Cannot bullet time and easily susceptible to gunfire. Matt is a pacifist and only willing to kill under very dire circumstances.
