Summary

Ayana Sakanagi is an elementary school girl of few words. She admires those in power, like princesses and commanders. She seems to be quite emotionless, but she cares for her teammates. Due to familial neglect, lack of proper teachings, and low self-confidence, when she becomes a real magical girl by playing Magical Girl Raising Project as Swim Swim, she rapidly grew to admire Ruler, despite her rudeness and condescending attitude. She seemed to be the only person looking after her and not ignoring her, and, through Ruler's mentoring, Swim Swim soon began to follow Ruler's every command and treat all of her words as law. Swim Swim was content staying as a pawn to her "princess", but she received a motivational speech from Nemurin in her dream to aim higher in life and that she can also achieve great things. Swim Swim's unique situation and easily-influenced mind twisted the harmless advice into taking over Ruler's position as the "princess". She’s extremely smart for her age, as she was able to manipulate Ruler into a situation where she would die. She has the highest kill count in Unmarked and one of the highest in the series. She can be extremely ruthless for the sake of helping and securing her teammates, but only because Ruler taught her to do that, as, even after her death, she religiously follows Ruler's teachings.

Attack Potency: At least Small Building level, higher via slashing/piercing damage (Non-combat magical girls scale to base-level Disrupters, which can mow down thick trees[1]. Scales to 7753 who casually tossed Mana and dented a steel door[2]. She easily restrained Snow White and killed Top Speed). Multi-City Block level with Energy Pills (She survived an attack from a casual Cranberry[3])

Speed: Likely Supersonic movement speed (Scales to Pechka who crossed 2 kilometers in a few seconds), with at least Supersonic combat/reaction speed (Even weak magical girls can act 100 times faster than humans[2]. Magical Girls appear as blurs to the human eye[4][1] and can react to rifle bullets[3]). At least Supersonic movement speed with Energy Pills (Scales to Weiss Winterprison who ran beyond the horizon in a couple seconds[5]), with likely Hypersonic+ combat/reaction speed (Scales to Ripple. Strong magical girls can act 1000 times faster than humans)

Lifting Strength: At least Class 5 (Magical girls can lift cars[6]). Likely Class 25 with Energy Pills (Scales to Ripple, who should scale to Captain Grace who can lift her pirate ship), possibly Class 50 (Should scale to La Pucelle)

Striking Strength: At least Small Building level. Multi-City Block level with Energy Pills

Durability: At least Small Building level (Non-combat magical girls can survive land mines.[3] They can also survive attacks that destroy cars[4]). Multi-City Block level with Energy Pills (Survived Cranberry's AoE attack, which destroyed everything in a fifty-meter radius). Intangibility makes her hard to kill.

Stamina: Superhuman, higher with Energy Pills. As a magical girl, she has hugely improved stamina and resistance to fatigue (moreover, she doesn't need to eat or to sleep). Fighting against other magical girls for a while, running kilometers and rescuing people for several hours doesn’t affect her at all. Magical Girls can stay active for multiple days without rest, resist freezing cold and scorching heat.

Range: Extended Melee Range with Ruler

Standard Equipment:

  • Energy Pills (x10): A magical item that enhances the user’s strength, endurance and durability for 30 minutes. However, over-consumption may cause heart failure.
  • Ruler (Weapon): Similar to a halberd, it's a magical weapon with a blade length of 30 centimeters and handle length of 1 meter. Like most unique magical objects, they can resist attacks from even the strongest magical girls.

Intelligence: Likely Gifted for her age. She was able to manipulate Ruler, one of the smartest characters of Unmarked, into a situation where she would die[3]. She is cautious and very attentive of her surroundings. She doesn't rush head-first when in battle, and prefers to analyze her opponent before striking at the best moment. Later, she developed plans and used her team's abilities to her advantage to kill other magical girls, most of which succeeded. She has one of the highest kill counts in the series.

Weaknesses: Weak to harsh (magical) light and sound. None of the regular human weaknesses. If she becomes unconscious, she turns back into a human and loses all the magical girl advantages.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Intangibility: Swim Swim’s magic is to transform her body into a liquid form. During this process, she can pass through any material object, including walls and ground, and neither she nor the object will be affected. She is also able to “swim” through these objects without receiving any drawbacks. Her intangibility is selective, meaning she can leave her torso, arms and legs intangible, while having her hands, feet and weapon tangible to attack. Her magic also expands to anything she's holding, including weapons which can also become intangible if she wishes. While using her power, she is virtually untouchable. However, light and sound will still affect her, even more so than other magical girls, though only magical versions of them will truly hurt her.
