Summary

Death, also commonly known as Mistress Death, is, as her name indicates, the abstract personification of mortality in the Marvel Universe, holding sway over all life. In the cosmic balance, she is opposite to Eternity, the embodiment of time and of the life-force of the cosmos itself, and closely related to Oblivion, who Death is variously described as both a daughter and sister to. Alongside Eternity, Oblivion and Infinity, she comprises the four points of the cosmic compass, being the greatest Abstracts presiding over any given reality in which they exist.

Unlike other cosmic entities, who are far too lofty and distanced from mortal matters to engage in any such things, Death is known for having maintained affairs with a great deal of lesser beings over the aeons. Her admirers are many, but the most well-known one is undoubtedly Thanos of Titan, who is known to have trampled whole worlds and threatened the balance of the universe itself for a chance to gain Death's affection.

Powers and Stats

Tier: Varies up to Low 1-A | 1-A | High 1-A

Key: Universal Death (M-Body) | Universal Death (True Self) | Omniversal Death

Name: Death, Mistress Death

Origin: Marvel Comics

Gender: Inapplicable (As a conceptual being, Death has no true gender and frequently manifests in aspects of either sex)

Age: Inapplicable (Exists beyond time)

Classification: Abstract Entity, Personification of Death, Opposite and Twin of Eternity

Powers and Abilities:

Abstract Existence (Type 2; Manifestation Bodies are anthropomorphic avatars assumed by the Abstracts in order to act in more personal matters, existing as images created by the interpretations of lesser onlookers, given semi-substantial being by the reality-altering properties of perception), Immortality (Type 1; Type 5; Type 9 – Due to the nature of Manifestation Bodies as simple visualizations brought into being by the perceptions of lesser entities, they cannot truly be harmed, as fighting them is tantamount to doing battle with one's own thoughts, and any damage seemingly inflicted on them can be instantly reversed as if it never happened[1]), Incorporeality (The M-Bodies of the Abstracts reside above the physical universe, and are stated to be "too abstract to fight in anything remotely resembling a physical manner"[2]), Nonexistent Physiology (Nature Type 1, Aspect Types 1, 2 and 3; While Eternity personifies all that is, Death Is his opposite, representing all that is not, and being incapable of truly entering him due to their incompatible natures[3]), Life (Holds domain over all life in the universe[4]) and Death Manipulation (Killed both Lord Mar-Vell and the armies of the Cancerverse,[5] a universe where the concept of Death was destroyed[6] and as such all life is immortal, [7] with Thanos noting that it will take aeons for even the Many-Angled Ones to heal from Death's assault), Causality Manipulation, Existence Erasure (Acts as the force that unleashes Oblivion at the end of realities, having served as the channel that brought about Korvac's erasure of Eternity by the The Ultimate Nullifier,[8] and presided over the erasure of King Thanos' entire timeline.[9] Threatened to show Mephisto "true death, nothingness, the void"[10]), Cosmic Awareness, Omnipresence, Nigh-Omniscience, Forcefield Creation (Shielded Eros from the shockwaves of Thanos' fight with the Abstracts[11]), Soul Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Reality Warping, Space-Time Manipulation, Shapeshifting, Resurrection, Necromancy, Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1)

All previous abilities to far greater degrees, as well as Abstract Existence (Type 1; The Abstracts are concepts manifesting themselves as entities,[12] with their very nature being insubstantial as an idea[13])

All previous powers and abilities to immeasurably greater degrees

Attack Potency: Varies (Since Manifestation Bodies are powered by an exchange of energies with the Abstracts, how powerful they are can be adjusted as needed, with them being able to be made weaker than even an incomplete Cosmic Cube such as The Beyonder, who is otherwise insignificant to the higher members of the Cosmic Hierarchy[14]) up to Low Outerverse level (Forms a dichotomy[15][16][17] with Eternity, with the two being the primary opposing forces whose sum comprises everything in Earth-616, alongside the other cornerstones of the Cosmic Compass,[2] Infinity and Oblivion) | Outerverse level (All of the Abstracts are immensely above their Manifestation Bodies, which are each simply infinitesimal parts of themselves[18] and "visualizations"[19] or "dim shadowy reflections"[20] of their totality created by the limited perceptions and imaginations of lesser beings,[1] while their true states are entities with no physical attributes whatsoever, with the shape and size of their manifested bodies being insignificant to them[15]) | High Outerverse level (Due to the fractal nature of the multiverse,[21] Death's multiversal self plays the same role that her universal facets do with respect to their realities, in which they serve as the force through which Oblivion is ushered,[8] her own nature being that of a personification of the transition point between Eternity and the "pure, perfect nothingness" of the void beyond.[22] Stood unaffected by the collapse of the Superflow,[23] the highest level of reality inhabited by the other Cosmic Aspects,[24] and would only truly die if Eternity was consumed by The First Firmament)

Speed: Immeasurable (Shares of the same nature as the other Abstracts), Omnipresent in the Realm of Death | Nigh-Omnipresent (Exists in, and as, everywhere in which death as a concept is present, even in things like thoughts and memories[16]) | Nigh-Omnipresent

Lifting Strength: Immeasurable

Striking Strength: Varies up to Low Outerverse level | Outerverse level | High Outerverse level

Durability: Varies up to Low Outerverse level | Outerverse level | High Outerverse level

Stamina: Infinite

Range: Low Outerversal | Outerversal | High Outerversal

Standard Equipment: Thanos

Intelligence: Nigh-Omniscient
