The Red Skull... he made fear... killin'... all out terror... He made into an art. See? This is what you don't get... because those sons of %#$&$ messed yer head all around. All that american way crap? Truth and justice and all? That's a load, just like everything else in this crummy world. Just another way to control the masses. Get 'em all juiced up and thinkin' they could be rich and famous, just like the people they see on TV. Meanwhile, all the real power... It's way outta their hands.

Crossb

Captain America: I have this theory that no one is totally beyond redemption. That's why I'm so big on preserving life-- Even the lives of those who try to kill me. As long as a person's alive, there's hope he may redeem himself. So what I'm saying is... even though you've acted like lowlife scum every time we've met, there must be something good about you... Love for your mother, a childhood pet, a woman maybe? I'd really like to know what it is.

Crossbones: You wanna know where I'm soft, huh, Cappy? Ha! Okay, why not? I'll tell you. I love... TO HATE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Weaknesses: Pulling the ribbons on his mask will slide it out of place and blind him[35], though newer versions of his mask seem to lack those strings.
